Better on equipment that never sees highway speeds.
I have given up on being shocked by how many people thing that that a spare tire that has been hanging out under there truck are good for full speed and then
when they get to a safe place they don't take the stupid thing off and put a good tire back on. The excuse tends to be "It still has Good Tread On It".

Yeah, when I put my spare on yesterday it kinda scared me. Great tread, but was showing its age. Had them swap it out with the best of the three tires and put 4 new ones on Red.
Tires are $15 cheaper each from when I bought them before. Ordered, end of week delivery.
And they'll be....
From China -- doesn't mean they won't work fine, but I have a car trailer with tires on it from 1990 and they all still hold air (not that I'd move it with them...)

looks like i wasnt the only one playing with a tractor tire lately... had to take the front tire off the rim for ours today because of a persistent leak... so i internally patched it...
Changed my tractor tires early last year, the amount of canvas showing was getting embarrassing. On the truck when I get new tires the old one with the best tread gets to become the spare
I still have orginal on the rear of the ‘84, they are a little better. And I have one orginal front and one original rear on the ‘52 Cub. Either life is getting shorter with production age or a good testament tires really like being out of the sun. The ‘91 before I bought it was parked in one place outside for years and all the rubber shows age deterioration with only 185 hrs on the clock. Rear tires had to get replaced immediately.
