I think if you look it Final Cut Studio.

FCP was only the video editing program and they moved to Studio at I think v4
when all the other tools were added to the package. You used to have to buy all
the extras to finish the job that you started in Final Cut Pro.

 

The plan was to get proficient at iMovie first, then move on. Here's what got screwed going to 64bit High Sierra.

 

That is just one of the reasons I won't upgrade the OS.

 

I wish I hadn't. I just have to develop the ***** to make two backup copies of the hard drive, reformat, try to pull up the older Seirra OS, then lay back just the programs and files and see if I can recover from this blunder. My backup is done after the upgrade, not before.

Windows I would be comfortable doing this with. This guy, that came to me setup like this, is another story.

 

Jack if you need copies of Mac OX I have them on bootable USB.

EDIT: One option is to use a bootable external drive and put 10.12 on it and boot.
You should be able to access the programs that way.

I've read that and I may try. I have a bootable USB with High Sierra along with my external backup. When I set up the backup drive I just did one partition of 4TB. I think I want to go back now and maybe have three partitions. So far I've only used 390GB of my 1TB installed drive, the installed 250GB fast drive is empty.

 

You could also use a 32Gb flash drive to install 10.12 (Sierra) onto and work from that.

 

DANG, you guys, we need some serious Thread Drift here.... And yeah, that is why we don't just dumb install the next greatest thing out of WA, like Win 8 or whatever they think folks should or will buy...

Did a fasting blood test today... while I didn't eat anything for 12 hours before, I didn't know you aren't supposed to DRINK any alcohol within 24 hours :-/ Oh well, whatever the tests show, is reality -- I don't go 24 without drinking, so the results should reflect that...

Loading the truck for a camp trip -- it's just a hauler this time, so not really doing any real work, other than climbing 6k ft. with some firewood and kayaks in back -- still he'd rather go than stay....
