Very sweet!

Bentley, any progress on the QMED? I haven't run across any engineers yet that went to school in Seattle. I did peek at Seattle Maritime and Crawford, both offering class here. If one or both have programs for people that work for a living while going to school, I may get the paper to have it. Could be a slow winter for me, perfect for school and backlogged projects.

Water pump is here, but I'm going to pick up a radiator and hoses while I'm at it after all. So the Ford is still dead in the water.

Got this from my grandparents for a late birthday present. Copyright 1944 during the war. Should make for a fun read.

@DC Yes some progress has been made. I was searching the NMC website and it turns out with my Coast Guard training I qualify for a QMED only requiring Sea Time. Checking with SIU in a week or two about becoming a Wiper. Need to get my Twic, MMC and Passport first though.

Crawford didn't have a solid list of when the QMED school will be when I called a couple weeks ago.

@NW Cool book

Ok, I said I wasn't going to, but I just ordered a radiator, fan clutch, upper and lower hoses, heater hoses, tstat and tstat o-ring to go along with the water pump I haven't put in yet.

Sounds like work to me.
My last new lower hose leaked about a few heat cycles.
The rubber took a set and shrank a bit under the clamp.
A little bit of a tightening solved that problem.

So are we all enjoying the heat and smoke? It's like I'm back in China again.

One of the smoke makers is JBLM. They have some group
working with that got a burn permit from the feds and has
more or less told the locals to stick it.

Time to put some heat onto the reps in Congress.

Nice...timing is everything I guess. My folks that live up near Bellingham said they haven't "seen the sun in 3 days"; Ouch.

Hasn't bothered me at all and my house has a nice brand new 3-layer filter in the HVAC. All the guys at work keep telling me it just feels like Suzhou LOL. Haven't been myself yet, so I wouldn't know.

I find it funny that these so called environmental groups get all prissy when you
step on the toes of there pet project. But then turnaround and harm people that
have trouble with asthma, COPD and things like that. They just don't give a rats ***.

Time to start yelling at Dave Reichert, Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell to make them
not do this during the worst time.

I agree...you prep burn piles during the summer and torch them in the late fall when there's moisture in the air. I helped my F-in-L do this multiple times to clear dead brush and trees for fire safety around their house. Never had any problem getting the old wood and schrubs to burn even with snow on the ground...once we applied a nice dose of gasoline.

So did that conversation with the wife start with "Well honey, since I was already going to be pulling stuff off the engine I decided to...."

That's usually how it goes in my household.

My ideal type of wife would start the conversation this way.
Well honey if we are going to be going that far into ti we may as well do...

I have known a few nice gals but they are spoken for.

Give me someone that likes mechanics, farm animals and BIG cats.
And a few dogs on top of that.

Nah, I'm blessed with both a wife and a career that allow me to play, break, and fix things along with supporting my family. I was the one who didn't want to bother with all the work and Turbo and his dad both mildly made it clear that the work would be a good idea in the long run.

Nice job on the wife and work life then!

Mine didn't flinch when some new camping gear showed up this week. We "needed it" for this weekend...
