I do the same thing...Just found Eric a few months ago and follow FordTechMakoLoco too. Still, when you're starting from zero it can be an intimidating journey.

@Onug I watch Fordtechmakuloko and ETCG, seems they're the best quality, some of the others have a foul mouth IMO.

@NW Looks like your Radiator has provisions for a OTW cooler, I added it to my truck and was well worth it. You'll need a couple of hard lines, shouldn't be to difficult of an install. My thread below with some part numbers.

Up and running with the first flush. Tstat is out and it was late, so I could only get the temps up to 160s without risking annoying the neighbors or getting too far from my house to get stuck with a dead Ex.
Will keep flushing the next few days and put coolant in on Friday.

Had two codes. Reset them so I can monitor how things go with Torque Pro.

First flush is through and drained. Second cleaning is in now. Ex seems to be driving fine so far. I don't smell anything funny. Not sure what else to look out for except to drive until something happens. New coolant and oil will go in tonight. Got coolant temps up to 185 without the tstat out, and that was screaming up 204 into Lake Stevens with OD off. Cylinder heads were reporting up to the 210s range. I don't know what is expected range for that temp.

Never monitored cylinder head temps, but your other stuff looks fine.

I suggest a 5 gallon bucket or two for these flushes, fits right under my Radiator petcock.

Oh, yeah, I emptied my bucket into these because my other huge transporting jugs are full already lol. I use a bucket and some rubber hose for nice easy, no-attention-required draining

I saw the two 5 gallon water jugs and then the gallon water jugs. Do you put the rubber hose on the petcock/radiator drain? Sounds like something I should do next time. I usually just crack it and move the bucket as necessary.

yep, same hose i used to bleed the brakes. Slides right on to the petcock. Anchor the hose high on the bucket and no moving/adjusting necessary!

Coolant and tstat are in, oil and filter changed. Driving fine so far, temps floating around 192. Going to tow the trailer up a couple hills tonight and see if it gets hot or if things play nice.

only bummer is I'm getting absolutely no heat out of either system, so I am guessing the cores need to go.

When bleeding did you have the truck heat on?

Sounds like air in the system.

If your driveway has a slight incline park it facing up the hill leave the cap off, Engine running and heat on low. I've had to put the front of a car on stands while bleeding for it to clear.

Heaters on the whole time, but slight incline toward front for whole job. I'll turn the Ex around and see if get more air out of the system. Might just RadVac the damn thing like our fearless leader is suggesting.
