Wife and I got a handful of work done around the house (some painting, weeding, and I broke in my new 22" hedge trimmer on all the foliage in front of our house).
We also found plenty of time Saturday and Monday to make it over to my sister-in-law's house on the lake for some beers, swimming, and boating.
I've been informed via other channels that, in typical engineer social-awkwardness fashion, I've managed to irritate some vets by my choice of wording on posts like the above that included gratitude toward surviving/living servicemen on Memorial Day. That was not my intent, so I appologize in advance to anybody here who may feel the same way.
My personal opinion, and I'm retired NAVY, some people need to lighten up. I appreciate the thought behind the message, and really wish others would also. My 3 brothers and I were all in along with my father and we thank you for the thoughts.
@NW I understand where both sides are coming from, I expressed to my family on Saturday not to thank Veteran's as that is what Veteran's Day is for. At the same time, EDC is right and some just need to calm down. Thanks for your Patriotism.
Brown bear swimming Yakutat harbor.

Thats always a moving target.. getting married in Nov. so my life depends on being here for that. Most likely late September-to-mid October. Fishing ends in Sept. for halibut, undecided on one..more...king crab season, local hunting, or go home.
Weekend is here for me! Taking Friday off to spend time with family visiting from out of town. Schedules and traffic are a lot kinder when you offset from a busy holiday weekend.

Spent the day watching 4 Argentinian locals weld one pipe and cut another.
Kinda like watching paint dry.
Found out the last bunch had a 2" pipe misaligned by just over an inch, then another bunch overtightened a 10" fire pump suction flex boot so bad it spit out the rubber., got pictures at the office I'll post tomorrow.

Here's pictures of the 10" rubber expansion that is basically destroyed and I have to try and salvage and use for a short period of time while we get a replacement.
