This is also my truck maintenance weekend...Oil is changed, replaced the cabin filter and got a coat of wax on the cab. Will finish waxing and other detailing activities tomorrow. Then the truck will be ready for winter.
I have a pork butt that I will be doing on Sunday if all works out as planned.
But Saturday I am getting tires that are more to my liking and that won't
shake my teeth out of my head. They make so much noise I can't hear the engine
running when I am driving on the freeway. I will be looking to find then a new home
if you know someone that is looking for some 20" tires with some teeth on them.
As you can see. The outer tire is from the old truck and more to my liking.
The set that is on the truck are just aggressive for my liking.
Here is a better shot of the tire and rim. The rims were sadly not taken very good
care of and the chrome is flaking in spots and I don;t know if the black crap will fully
come off. I even tried last night with some Extreme Simple Green® Aircraft & Precision
Cleaner. It is safe on aluminum and other metals. The stuff is so much better at cleaning
then Purple Power. http://www.clean-rite.com/purplepowe...degreaser.html
Those tire look pretty loud. I've never understood how people can trick their cars out and then neglect them. Especially chrome things. Makes my eye twitch.
All done with the truck...finished the wax first thing this morning and then vacuumed, cleaned the windows and dash, applied leather conditioner and a treatment to the exterior plastic trim.
The brisket came off at 4:15 this morning. Just took a nap to recover some sleep. First tastes this morning was exciting; dinner should be amazing.
I skipped doing work outside do to the smoke and falling ash.
Will be washing everything once the fires are under control
of we have a rain storm.
I was going to smoke a pork butt. But the idea of just waving
it around in the air does not sound as good as on the smoker.
And I don't want to suck in all that extra smoke.
Yeah, I took care of my wife's 2016 accord the first day all the ash started falling and immediately stashed it in the garage and dried the entire thing with my air compressor. The Ex and Subi, however, have been sitting outside getting nasty the whole time. Both of them are already low quality body condition/paint condition, so I'm not too bothered.
Happy Friday peeps. I hope everyone had a better week than me. Seems like everything I touched this week went to poop. But proving I'm stupid beyond measure, I decided to go ahead and attempt a Sync update tonight. I'll either brick my stereo or it will work, and those are better odds than I've had for a while.
Hope your stereo update works out. Have CDL testing this coming week, down by Yahiko. Headed out shortly to wash a couple vehicles and transfer title to the newer 2001 Civic FIL/MIL sold to me.
What a day.
I remove the bent radius arm bracket. 7 12mm or 13mm rivets. 4 of the
rivets are up in the center of the bracket and the rest on the side.
Good thing I have a nice compact pneumatic drill and chisel that ~~~~ NOTE: The go to drill with the battery pack would not fit.
is nice and slender. Still 3 of the rivets were longer than I thought
because I did not know that they were passing through tow plates
before they passed through the frame. Ended up grinding them flat
so I could drill them deeper after I got the bracket out of the way.
The 2nd time around the pneumatic chisel made short work out of them.
Not so bad in the first view but take a look at the 2nd view. Tweaked is a good word.
