Official NCFTE Works Thread
The rib where I have the clamp, actually there is a brace that goes across there, it ties the board and strips together, but not does mount to the frame at all. However for what I'm doing, it's a good place to hold up the back of the bed while I work on the rear brace, and I went ahead & put some 3/8 bolts through it into the frame.
Regarding the front, I went ahead and ordered that piece from NPD. With tax and shipping I paid $120. Considering the headache it would be to try to duplicate it while the bed is on the truck I think it's money well spent!
Sorry that I missed you, I have to work tonight so I laid down for a nap earlier.
This way you can use it when your not napping LOL
I can bring it by tomorrow some time

When I showed up with a truck for a date I found out later she was taken back but she knew that was all I had.
Also my Gremlins (AMC) did not go out after midnight and they got wet once as I had 2 at the time LOL
She has been a keeper for over 21 years now.
I gave John a lesson on using my sheet metal brake that I dropped at his house.
He needs to bend some for the flare side bed side panels.

. Started cleaning up the brush guard, gonna clean up the bad spots of powdercoat and rust and I can toss it on.
Old electrical panel is the perfect thickness.
FuzzFace showing me how the bending brake works. Pretty slick!
Voila! Two new pieces.

Not much left of the old one!
I can't install the new support until I recreate this side panel. Dave can you confirm if it is supposed to have a lip at the top and bottom, or just the bottom?
Looking over that link you were right on the front & rear sills having metal "loops" with wood blocks inside them. I did not know or remember that till looking over the link.

On that panel the factory had a lip top& bottom.
The top lip I think was as wide as the bed bolt down lip.
My patches I did not make or add this top lip back as 1- to hard to make 2- I did not see the need for it and would only trap water & dirt and rust out again.
The bottom lip is not as wide as the top and is only there to stiffen the panel.
I did not need to touch any of the bottom lips.
Do you have metal to make this panel? I have some that may work if you need it.

Dave every time you come over my driveway is trashed with rust, dirt, and cut off nuts & bolts from working on this truck. I took a pic today to show you, I do move it and clean the driveway once a week!

By the way next time you come over I want to measure your rear bumper, I need to mock up something temporary that matches the dimensions.
