IMHO it's worth it for you to do the upgraded parts since your truck is subjected to more heat and stress almost constantly. The A40 will probably give you better mileage also.

You actually get up to Medicine hat, Alberta, Canada... Well then, on top of the beers, I should take you out to the base to see some tanks, etc (if the Brits are around, depends on the time of year)

It's 500 to get their whole hookup. That's a chunk. Would stock components in the ficm hold up to the atlas tune? Should I do the $500 as preventative maint??? I checked the oasis before buying the truck and am sure it's never had any flash done. I have the original flash from the factory. Is the extra 100 worth it for the 2 yr components??
as much as you drive, and depend on your vehicle? yes.

IMO the extra Warranty is worth it !!!
Right after i bought my truck & installed my Edge CS it alerted to low ficm voltage (thankfully i was never stranded), sent it to ED for the "Big" warranty package & its always ran a perfect voltage since.
BTW...Ed is a stand-up guy & a pleasure to deal with

VERY VERY good thread, extremely brave to tackle this kind of extensive work.

A few questions though, when you took a pic of the head gasket on the crate motor you bought, was that a VR in a circle?

You ended up sending the motor back, why?

So basically you're rebuilding your origanal motor and throwing it back into the truck?

I am VERY impressed over all, reps for ya!

Haha, yeah I know...I wasn't impressed with my duramax much.

I'm in love with my current truck.

As for my old 6.0 the guy put a 24V Cummins in it, turn out that one was blown, so it's on it's second cummins now a 12V p-pumped.

Everytime I see pictures of the truck I feel a heart break lol

Yea that's a sweet truck. Is your dodge is 6 speed? If not you better start saving your money for a trip to Mr. Goerend. I had two Dodge Cummins trucks 05,07. They are sweet as a street truck but I tore em down at work. Neither tranny made it past 70k and both trucks were traded before 100k. They just fall apart when you start working them to death. But if your just using it as a DD it'll be fine. Just don't become one of THOSE Cummins guys ok haha.

No way, ill never become a cummins tool.

My truck currently has a jasper rebuilt tranny with a warranty which came in it when I bought it so ill let it be until the warranty is over

The only thing I had to do to mine so far is ball joints and tie rods go figure lol
