Man!?!?!? I dunno. I put that in about 30k ago. If I did, then I'm never doin it again,,, I need to SLOW down. If I did then I just got in a hurry. I could've swore I torqued it. But 30k ago???? Hard to remember. Sorry for the lapse, my uncle Tim ( in law) called. He's kinda a gearhead. So I picked his brain a bit. He has all the fancy mic tools and will come help me short block it, if I decide to do it myself. Prob won't tho.

I got an idea. (The machine shop said he does some crazy stuff, like he has machined material off of the dura max pistons before for a sled puller). If the front cover was bolted to a plate to keep from warping, and the grooves were welded, then use his cnc machine, to machine the welds smooth, would that fix the issue. Could the cast aluminum be welded? I'm gonna run it by them tomorrow. I might have to take him a new front cover to use as a template to program the computer. Wonder what that would cost, how many of you would do it if it was an option???

That would have to depend on few factors. A) Was there damage present inside the oil pump gerotor housing to warrant attention? B) How much would it cost to do what you propose, versus the cost of purchasing a new front cover? I think it's a no-brainer if the cost of a new front cover is less than $100 more than the cost of doing said service. C) Is this even possible?

Thx Sean,,, I have my quote printed off (I say quote cause I gave my parts guy a check for the parts, but my transfer won't go through til tomorrow. I'm gonna be in Indiana. He's gonna wait to run the check until I call him). The parts will be delivered straight to the machine shop. I'm saying this cause all tousley's prices are about 8% less than what I'm supposed to pay. That would be almost 400 cheaper if I go with tousley. That's as good as a free front cover. Then I could get my ficm done also. I'm gonna have to call tousley tomorrow n get a quote for everything. Perfect timing for a tousley link. Thx Sean.

Use the price at Tousley's as a bargaining tool. See if they will at least meet
if not beat.

Drive safe. I'll be here at home beating up on a PC that is still giving me
fits. It hard crashed the other night and left a file mess that I hope I
can get working. As much as I now dislike windows I do need that PC
for some things. It's seems to be booting this time.Maybe I'll just >>

You will have to stop by next time you are by Tousley. I am 20 minutes from Tousley near the 494/694 split.

You really don't need the A80 tune for what you do Anthony.
