Took the F3 for a brief trip and snapped a couple of pictures. The fall leaves were at their peak about 3 weeks ago but there is still some color out there.
Tom
I haven't had it out much. But it will be doing some work here soon. We have bought a new house and as long as the appraisal goes well we will be moving in a couple of weeks.
My daughter and her man are buying my inlaws house, where my shop is. My truck will stay there until I can get a shop built at the new house.
Here is a picture I took this weekend. My youngest with her boyfriend. (He lives 90 minutes away. The best kind, they can't see each other too much) The young one is my grandson, Kirby.
Their pumpkin carving experience didn't go so well. It was a bit more difficult then that thought it would be.

Hey Tom. Yep. I was out there. My speedometer is off, but using a correction factor Joe helped me with, I'm estimating the distance covered to be very close to 2500 miles. Almost all of these miles were on two lane secondary roads. I passed through many little towns and met interesting people at almost every stop. I've discovered you are never a stranger if you drive an old truck. It seems certain people are just attracted when they see an old truck, and they feel comfortable coming up and talking to someone they've never met before. Maybe my truck reminded them of a vehicle they used to have, or a family member they haven't thought for awhile, or a special memory. I heard some Coast Guard stories too. I'll always remember my long cross country adventures in my dad's old truck.

This is my favorite pic from the adventure:

That is a great pic of the Hyner Mountain Road Race!
It's a great drive in a special place. I've done it twice, but would certainly be up for doing it again. As you can see, I'm drafting Ed, one of the odds-on favorites in the race. The road (race course) is a two way affair. On coming traffic is always something that has to be accounted for as you plan your race strategy. LOL.

ps The red truck in the lead appears to be Bob Jones--a long shot in the betting. His flathead I6 was thought to be a little tired by the odds makers, but he's obviously still competitive. Maybe his super stiff F2 suspension gives him an edge in the tight hairpin turns.
She has worn it a couple of times already! Great shirt!

Always nice to get home as Abe said.
Jim, Bob, and I all drove our trucks all the way out to Pennsylvania for Truckstock. It was a great adventure. Bob had a co-pilot, but Jim and I did solo flights.
