Now, that's the right look for a lake in the winter. Hopefully your truck is running well, you have all the little glitches worked out, and you are enjoying the ride after so many years of working to get your truck back on the road.
So I took my truck out to get the oil up to temperature to see how my leaking issue is doing. My daughter called just as I was about to head out.
She said it would be good to go through the McDonald's drive through since I would be out. She needed a snack between track practice and work.
That white SUV took forever. Gave me some good idle time.
High quality electrical tape applied by the PO. I haven’t made any changes to the truck except carb rebuild. Next is get that temp gauge and gas gauge working and fix the passenger side window that was probably smashed because some got locked out. Baby steps.
Does not look like the area has changed much since I was at Edwards AFB in 1960. Perhaps a few more trails in evidence. I hiked some in the area.
Ive been going out there since the mid 70s....its changed some since then. It used to be a 2 lane highway & now some of it is a 4 lane. Theyve been putting a lot of
solar farms along the highway lately. Was the Jawbone store there when you were? It was originally started by Panch Barnes.
The Jawbone Canyon Store was originally started by Pancho Barnes and her husband Mac Mc Kendry in the early 1960's. Pancho and Mac moved to Jawbone after their Happy Bottom Ranch in Muroc (now Edwards Air Force Base) mysteriously burned to the ground following years of the US government trying unsuccessfully to obtain the property.

I do not remember the store. I was rotarywing air crew and we sometimes flew over surrounding areas. I don't remember the story of any property burning but I was just there TDY for 13 months.
Beautiful day today, took the 49 out for a spin around town. Took this shot of the Nipmuc Reginal High School (now a middle school) where the rock group AEROSMITH played their first gig for$$..... 11/6/70.
My daughter had her senior pictures taken today. A few were done with my truck. Of course the professional ones will be a 100 times better than this, but I wanted to get some out.
This is a Missouri river access in Jefferson City. The capital is on the left side of the picture.
