some great pictures and awesome trucks in this thread!
I'm still not driving a 51 or 52 truck yet. I know its not a truck but at least its a Ford! After work tonight I merely suggested taking the jeep out and my Daughter was ready to go. she hasn't left the house in a few weeks other than last weekend with this stay at home order. here is a couple through the windshield pics of the GPW
We needed some ferns for our shady bed. I asked a dear friend if I could get some on the property her family owns up in the mountains. So I grabbed a shovel and jumped in my 55 F350. I headed up Queens Run road, a dirt road that follows Queens Run. It was a beautiful day. The Run was really flowing making those wonderful sounds that running water makes. A few pictures.
And I found some ferns.... However they were barely above ground. I guess spring is a lot later in the mountains than in the lowlands.

Lots of Mountain Laurels and shale in the foothills. Brings back good memories Abe. My Botany Professor said if I every brought her a fern fiddlehead I'd get extra credit. Always forgot to look in the spring. Enjoy your evening.

The mountain Laurel was very thick in some spots along the road. And that's what I brought home, fiddleheads.
The picture of the water and stacked stone is very peaceful looking, Id like to sit there one afternoon just to listen.
Well, for your listening pleasure here are the sound sounds of Queen's Run passing through what's left of an old dam. I am not sure if this was built by the CCC in the Depression or if it was built by the Queen's Run Brick factory that got their clay in this mountain.
Took a drive today up to Pine Grove to give my father in law’s mower to my niece in law(?). Up over the Bethel mountain. Going down either side I had to give it gas. All our other vehicles, we have to use brakes going down. The Appalachian trail crosses the top of the mountain.
Dennis, I know that road well. I used to go from Brickerville to Lock Haven that way for a change of pace. And my good buddy lives in bethel. His parents used to live right by the Bethel exit of 78.
Drove my 54 to a restaurant in the mountains this morning called Fin, Fur, and Feather. They also have a museum and a store with lots of stuffed animals on the walls. It may be a good place to eat for the guys at Central PA Mountain Truckstock after we go to Hyner View.
We're coming home from the cabin today, I'll have to snap a picture of Fin Fur and Feather as we go past it.
Stop in and say hi to Aaron and Adam, brothers. Both their parents taught were I taught. They bought the place about 2 years ago. If you're in your truck, stop in for sure. They'd love to see your truck. A kid that works there ran out to take a picture of my truck.
