Nice Abe
gorgeous country!
Not too many passes to cross on this trip. Started out in Rio Rancho, NM at an altitude of about 1 mile high and ended up in Monte Vista, Co which is just over 7600'. Basically the route we took was just a long steady climb on the way up.
The 2.75:1 rear gear ratio and the good low end torque of the big Caddy engine make a great MPG driver. Couple all of that with the 30+ gallon tank and I can drive for what feels like ever....lol

My 55 F350 with the optional 5.83 rear and 239 Yblock is not good for cruising and mpg! But great for climbing hills and pulling out bushes.
So today I'm mowing my clients lawns. I mow the Piper Masaleum (of the Piper Aircraft family) every other week. I called my wife to tell her I won't be home for lunch. As I'm sitting there a small deer approaches as it is browsing. Then I write some things in my book to keep records straight and as I look up the deer is right in front of me. It continues browsing from right to left and passes by the driver's door.
Sorry for the fuzzy pictures. The lens on my camera phone is scratched.
No gas leaks. Carb kit did it's job. Got some oil wetting in a couple places...but these inline 6's always did. Eng temp held steady the whole drive. So I am happy!
