Its back on the treadmill this evening for me. I don't mind it, but after being off of it for a while my ankles, and feet really hurt for several days afterwards.
i know what you mean, i go through that every time i get off the walking routine and on to a house project or something. sometimes you gotta chose
about 10 years ago i was bs'ing with a guy at the gym. he was getting close to 60 years old at that time and looked to be in pretty good shape! he told me "just don't ever stop what you're doing, cause it hurts way worse starting it up again" oh man is he right lol! having to do all that over again hurts!
I didn't get on the treadmill again last night. by the time I got dinner cooked and kids fed, and read to, I was content to sit and clear my head for a bit. I could come up with a million excuses, but end the end I just need to do it.
I didn't get on the treadmill again last night. I wasn't planning to, however yesterday, I came down in weight, which is surprising because I ate lunch at a restaurant with my wife, then didn't exercise.
A co-worker of mine does pushups twice a day (50 each) in one of the back offices, he sets his timer to remind him during the day. He used to be a professional football player.
Yesterday I was working in that office and he came in and seemed surprised that I was in there, so was going to pass on doing his pushups.
I convinced him to go ahead, and I would try to do some as well. I did 16 which was about 16 more than I had done for the last 10 years. I had forgotten about it in the mean time and today in the back of my mind thought to myself that my chest muscles were a little tight, but not enough to give it a lot of thought.
This morning he was just returning to his office and in conversation mentioned he had just gotten back from doing his pushups.
I thought to myself I should maybe try to do some as well, so I went and knocked out another 15. I was reminded that I had done pushups yesterday because those tight muscles in my chest reminded me of the ones I had done yesterday and it all clicked why my chest muscles were tight this morning.
i had stopped doing pushups for years because of shoulder impingement issues, but i've rehab'd myself since and i'm doing them again. i'm super strict on my form because of the shoulders tho. and i really can just barely do 15 at a time before i lose form haha! maybe if i do sets throughout the day, then i'll be able to do more eventually!
I finally got on the treadmill again last night. I finished up the documentary "Cuba and the Cameraman" It was very interesting seeing 6 year interval changes in Cuba, up to Castro's death. I then started the movie "Naked" its like Ground Hog day but with one of the Wayan's brothers, and he keeps waking up naked in a broken elevator every hour. I put in 2.72 miles mostly walking, but I figure if I start out slow again, I can build up to some speed over time, rather than shock the system.
Think I will also go do some more pushups this morning.
Yeah... so... Easter weekend was more than terrible for my diet. YIKES!!
I am not saying I give up, but this weekend was kind of a To Heck With it weekend with steak, ham, scalloped potatoes, cheese hashbrowns, etc.. etc... Busting at the seams.
i got a little too full both saturday night, sunday morning, sunday at noon, sunday at about 2, sunday night around 6 lol!
i weighed 192 this morning haha! i'm back on track since this morning when i woke up, so i bet i'll be back at 188 in a matter of another day. just WAY too much food is clogging my belly hahaha! i probably needed a surplus of nutrition anyway. i had been feeling achy anyway. a little rest, food, family... thats just healing up for the week to start!
