I went back to the first page, and noticed I was at 209 when I started this thread.

in.... 2012....

I made it up to 229, as I evidently didn't stay with any kind of diet.. but am currently down to 205.7.
I am hoping to reach 175, but won't be able to do that in the time frame that I originally had hoped. I had hoped that I would reach it before Mid Feb.
Oh well, I will just keep pugging away and see where I get to before then.

i documented my own weight loss trials in a thread over on PSN, it's been a great way to track stuff like that for me. i was in the 240lb range at one point in the last 4 years and i'm 190-ish right now.

i'm headed to 185, so that's just 5 pounds, but i've set the clock to have it done by the end of the 6th week this year, so February 12th. just under 5 weeks to go, so about a pound a week. that's hard stuff right there!

actaully i do this 6-week diet twice a year. it's mandatory, that's how i keep in shape. it also makes it easier to just keep plugging away while 'm not on the diet. i mean i only gained 7 pounds from mid August last year to January 1st this year. it's a redneck mind trick that i'm constantly playing on myself lol

so, say i make 185 by Feb 12th. that means i'll likely be around 190 come July 1st when i repeat my diet. maybe i'll set a goal of 182 or 183 for the next 6 weeks! my goal last summer was 190 and i hit 188.

this is the diet that I do. it's not as crazy as it sounds, it's just real food like you'd find it in the garden, simple. linky: Do42

i have some other simple things i follow to help me succeed on & off the diet:
-Always drink water over anything else (except coffee and an occasional beer lol)
-Exercise daily, keeping it at or under an hour, but as intense as your heart, lungs, knees, back can handle
-Don't cave when you want to "lose control" with your appetite (this is the hardest one for me lol)

....and i have TONS of other little things that I do as well, but i won't make yall read all that lol

gentlemen, these concepts have been working for me to keep myself accountable AND in somewhat of a decent conditioned shape. and i'm exited to hear more about what you guys are doing!

I am doing the Super Shred Diet, its a 30 days 20 lbs diet, if you don't veer off of it at all, but I had multiple occasions that got me off track like Thanksgiving, 3 Christmas's, NYE, family gatherings, travel meals, etc...January is a little easier, except for a ski trip which I will have to just do portion control on, and a birthday coming up next week, where I promised myself I would pig out on if I would try to stay focused on weight loss up until that point.

i just read a littel bit about it, it sounds very similar to what I do! I eat 5 to 7 small meals every day, whether i'm on or off diet. but that's something i figured out by listening to my stomach. i had to get the portion sizes and food combinations juuuust right so my stomach was ready for another small meal in about 3 hours. turns out that half a chicken breast and 1 cup of raw veggies gets me from about 9am to noon perfectly!

i see it had a LOT of rules to follow! i have guidlines that i follow, andi'm sure they would be similar. like, i get up early every day, get 8hrs of sleep each night, never eat til i'm full, yada yada yada... but when i 'slip' then i just make a point to correct it & maybe do a bit more cardio or something like that

one more quick thought, lol! that super shred diet is based around a daily routine, and i gotta say that's a huge deal for me! consistency + healthy food + exercise means good blood levels, normal blood pressure, regulated blood sugar, list goes on! not to mention you can bump up your Zinc and vitamin D and likely optimize your testosterone! all that good food can save your liver, pancreas, kidneys, ... list keeps a goin!

sorry, i get a little carried away... what kind of exercise do you do?

I walk and run on our treadmill.

this morning I weighed in at 204.6.

My legs are sore, and my feet have blisters, and those blisters have blisters. I have expensive running shoes that fit good, and my wife bought me running socks, but the socks have a logo sewed into the bottom which causes a lump and caused blisters in the middle of my foot. I am going to get new running socks.

I did 6 miles last night, but typically I do 7. I would have done more, but I still wanted to be able to walk today without crying.

ouch! every time i play basketball i get blisters immediately! right on the pads! i can't run anymore cause of my left knee, let alone play basketball. maybe once a week I jog just down the block to either warm up or cool down. i have to get creative to get my heart rate up! today was leg day, so heart rate wasn't a problem, waiting for it to come back down is tho lol
