Went up again today...I feel like I been killing myself the last few days for a loss, but gained instead. My wife says maybe its building muscle, but I don't know if I buy that I have gained almost 2 lbs in muscle in three days. The last three days I have followed the diet plan to the detail.
I suppose its one of those "Your body is used to this starvation mode now, so now you need to exercise twice as much and eat 1/4 of the food you had been using to starve yourself."
Maybe I need to move my exercise to the morning rather than the evenings. I may try that to see if that makes a difference.

morning workouts is one of the key things for me!

you know, there's some science in just that - moving the workout to first thing in the morning. It's related to our (men's) daily testosterone rollercoaster ride - specifically just by the fact that testosterone is replenished back to it's peak level right when you wake up. mind you, thats stuff i read in journals, i've never had phlebotomy tests to prove it... but working out in the morning seems to be what the doctor ordered for me.

Also, when you cut calories AND workout longer, it can interupt hormone levels; including testosterone, estrogen, cortisol, insulin... list goes on. After reading up on some of that, i decided to make a couple rules:
-never workout longer than 1 hr.
-never eat past that "point of no return" lol
-never gorge on junk
-always try for 8hrs sleep
-...there's a bunch more little things too, just forget them atm!

oh... i weighed 180.4 lbs this morning... and i actually had two full bowls of vegetable soup with a couple handfuls of chips last night lol i though to myself that surely i'd hold on to a lot of water, but i guess the rest of the food i ate yesterday was enough to compensate.

I finished my 60 day diet at 201.4 on Friday, and ate some normal people food Friday night, which was not helpful but brought it back down on Sunday morning, then some more normal people food on Sunday brought me up to 202.4.
Of course by normal people food I am talking pizza on Friday, I don't remember Saturday, except for two Jr Bacon Cheeseburgers from Wendy's, then Sunday was chicken fajitas for lunch, and pot roast for dinner. Today is a come up with my own diet plan using what I have been learning for the last two months, and see where I end up tomorrow morning kind of day.

this week has not been helpful to my diet, I packed on the lbs, because I was traveling a lot, and not following much of the routine. I planned to start the diet plan again on Monday, but that won't even work due to I am going to go training in Wichita for two days. Wed is a Board meeting, and then in the evening a work event. Earliest I could start on a diet would be Thurs, and by then, there is just no use because we will be traveling again on Friday.
Portion control would be my friend if I had any self control.

SO I quit dieting altogether about a month ago-- weighed in this morning -- at 242- I gained 1 lb in a month--- (actually .8 lbs) My body just wants to stay at the 240ish mark I guess.

I spent the last two days sitting in a conference, with a few snacks here and there, but overall I tried to watch my food intake, I weighed 201 last night before running on the treadmill, but this morning I was down to 199.6. I kind of expected to be in the 204-207 range because the snacks that were offered were not diet friendly.

I told my wife last year at this time, I would lose 3 lbs per month, but then had to play catchup when I didn't lose any, but put extra on.

I figure it took me 43 years to put this much weight on, so its not a race to take it off, just that I need to keep things going in the right direction and even if it is a small loss at a time.

I was just doing treadmill walking and running, but then Julie bought some small weights and I use them to do curls or arm exercises during the walking portion of the exercising.
