yep i'm starting to realize how hard starch makes fat loss! i was able to lose weight effectively when i was 60 pounds heavier by eating starchy carbs like rice and beans every day. no bread or anything processed though of course.
but now that i'm actually at a normal healthy body fat %, the beans and rice are holding me back lol! not that i really need to lose more fat ... i just want to now, just to see if i can. and i've made my mind up now, so i'm going to make it happen lol
I fell off the wagon, but just been hanging out at about 207. I've had days that I have gone up, and some that I was below that. I just need the motivation to do the 30 day diet again to get down to the next step and see how I maintain at that level.
This week won't be good on me though. Going to the Mulvane Steak Feed on Friday, and I intend to eat till I make myself sick as is tradition. Yep... you can say it.. I have no common sense when it comes to food and diet. It's OK, I knew that going in.
i'm a month into my new little diet experiment now, i'm really enjoying to food! but i'm also still failing to stop eating at night lol! that being said, i'm maintaining weight, which is fine... but i'd like to have lost about 3 pounds of fat by now. and i doubt that i've lost 3 pounds of fat and replaced it with 3 pounds of muscle. anywhoo, i have 2 more months to adjust and tweak. this is tough stuff!
Started the Keto diet today, pretty excited to see how much I can shed while munching on bacon and avocados! lol
I'll be doing the diet by itself for 2 weeks, then when Mason is done with school I'll also start working out in the morning. Then in 6 weeks we'll have our Yellowstone vacation (hard to work out and keep with the diet when on the road) so I'll take a break that week and jump back in to just working out when I get back. I'll "stop" the Keto diet at that point but the plan is to keep sugar out as much as possible, introduce carbs back in at limited quantities, and keep a careful on on my overall food intake.
Wish me luck! Starting at 285 this morning, let's see where I land in 6 weeks
I did the full weekend thing with all the trimmings, and went up to 209.9 as of this morning,( but with the bathroom break I had this morning, I might should reweigh.. LOL) and I had mentioned to my wife that I would start my diet on Monday, so today is my first day back on the diet as well.
I don't have a goal or a time frame at this point, just eating better, exercise in the evening before I go to bed, and see where it takes me.
I did pretty good at the steak feed- had a few beans- and only 1/2 my steak- ate the other half the next day-- any pointers or recipes you need for the keto diet let me know- I have tons-- like making ranch dressing out of plain yogurt and ranch powder :-) And Taco soup!
Down to 207.5 this morning. My wife was complaining because I was eating dinner at 9 pm last night when I got home, and didn't apologize when she noticed I had lost more weight. oh well..

That sounds good! We've been trying to pick up recipes and tricks along the way, we're only a few days in but I feel like we have a good handle on the situation. It sure is quite the lifestyle change though, carbs are everywhere! I went down 6 lbs the first 2 days but from what I read it's probably just water weight. The diet wont' kick in for 7-30 days, even then I have to stick with it for 6 months+ to start seeing major improvement. Looks like I'll be following it much harder than initially anticipated...
208.8 this morning. I can't even pretend to be surprised. I had lunch with Flip's sales lady yesterday at Longhorn Steakhouse, then we had training at work, and they cooked big, beautiful ground chuck hamburgers on the grill smothered in bacon and cheese.
When I was 30... I could eat like this every day and not gain weight. It was a beautiful thing.
Yeah, this was not a good week for weight loss. In fact it went much the opposite direction. I had a salad for lunch, and hopefully a salad for dinner today.
I plan to eat healthy in my mind, setting my mind set for it, then when I get home, we are generally out of one item, or another in the fridge, and I self destruct, and eat the opposite of healthy. I am my own worst enemy.
i am the same way!!! one thing that helps me in that area is simply having more vegetables than we typically need. forces me to fill up on whatever is in there, because i'm as much of a tightwad as i am a food addict!
funny thing, tonight we are going to have a whole bunch of salad that needs to be eaten ASAP, else i'll have to see it go bye bye... I actually made myself it a few days ago, perfect to my taste, so i don't want to waste it lolol
