Why are you eating breakfast!? Figure about 1200 daily calories for a slow rate of weight loss. Maybe 600 to 800 daily calories to speed it along, it's that simple, though pretty tough to do at the 800 calorie level. But I read "experts" saying be sure to always eat breakfast, and 6 meals a day, that's nonsense imo.
I think its going to be a New Years Resolution to get back down to a reasonable weight. I should start now/yesterday/last week/last year... but there is something about having a concrete start date for me.
morning morning morning!!!!!
and a flappy new year!
I'm doing another 6 week diet, not that i'm looking to lose weight, but i'm going to lose roughly 10 pounds of fat if everything goes smoothly! It's not really a 'diet', it's more of a routine 'dietary & gi system reset'. I'm hoping to regain about 5 pounds of muscle that I've lost since the summer as well!
i enjoyed some fresh kale yesterday, i forgot how well i digest it, made for a nice rest of the day!
off to walk with a 20 lb backpack, gonna do 30 minutes
Went off the rails over December (especially at the end during my 2 week vacation) and went up 19 lbs, yikes! Jumped back in with a strict diet all through January so I'm hoping to hit a record low by the end of the month. I dropped 13 lbs since January 1 so I'm on the right track, although I would venture to guess the other 16 lbs I need to drop will come off with a hair more resistance
From my calculations I need to drop a little over .5 lbs a day to meet goal, wish me luck!
That's way more ambitious than I will probably get.
I kinda have to get that ambitious unfortunately. December kicked my butt and I've been hovering around the 220 mark for most of 2019. I figured my best plan of attack would to just hit it hard for a month, make my new mark at 210, and then maintain or lose 1ish lbs a month the rest of the year.
Hasn't been terrible at all though honestly. Last night we had filet mignon, sirloin steak, and brisket. Tonight will be low-carb broccoli and cheese soup, tomorrow night will be slow cooker roast over cabbage, Wednesday will be a huge plate of buffalo wings and steamed broccoli, thursday will be grilled chicken breasts and minute steaks, etc.
What's your plan of attack for dieting this year? Switching it up or sticking with what's worked for you in the past?
My plan of attack is mostly at this time, continuing to do life mostly like I do, while upping my activity a little, and eating just a little healthier, weighing in towards the end of the week, to see if I am on track to lose a pound that week, and then if not, I will spend some time on the treadmill, or do some extra outdoor activities until I am sure I will meet my goal for the week.
That sounds like a great plan of success dude. Keeping track of your progress on a manageable rate, instead of watching the scale like a hawk on a daily. I think I'll shift towards your method at the beginning of next month
Just eat one meal a day, at the same time everyday. No snacking. Coffee or tea, unsweetened. If you do this and do this alone, you will tend to lose weight no matter what.
It shouldn't take too long to figure out what your daily maintenance calories are. For guys this might be around 1800 calories or so. Figure about 1000 to 1200 calories for a slow weight loss rate, 600 to 800 for a faster rate. Figure about 3500 calories equals 1 pound of fat, so therefore a 350 calorie intake reduction below maintenance equals 1 pound of bodybfat goes bye-bye every 10 days. It's as simple as that, though not necessarly easy. Easier than I thought, though keeping the weight off means changing lifestyle. For the rest of your life.
Drink plenty of fluids. Salt water helps a lot with hunger pains. The beauty of this method is you can eat large satisfying meals, whatever you want, and still lose weight quickly. Of course if you exercise it will acclerate the process. I still make omelets or mac and cheese, bacon and eggs, hamburgers, sausage gravy over hash browns, SOS.
Yesterday made a ham sandwich with cheese on rye and baked potato wedges. About 1,000 calories total, if that.
But this "Half a slice of organic sawdust toast and a brussel sprout (satan's dingleberries) smoothie for lunch" BS is not for me. No F'ing way. Food. It's what's for dinner. Salad is not food. It is food for food.
