We only had a few hours to work today. We took my 2" pine lattice boards that I had been soaking in my pool for a week and screwed them in place. It looks kinda neat with the wood showing but they will be painted black after the wood drys and they are sanded and prepped. We had a little problem with the dome light wiring but it is all straightened out. The front emblem is now on. The flash makes it took teal but it is the true blue color. We are back out Monday morning.

The photo of the hood looks like there's a scratch in it. I hope that's also just a trick of the light.

Nice work. You're amazing!

Thanks Joe, I don't remember seeing a scratch. It must be the flash ... I hope.

Probably a reflection of an overhead florescent light? On the right side just above the front trim. I think it must be the light...

That's what I thought at first too. If that was a scratch, it would be hard not to notice.

I am going to check the hood the first thing tomorrow morning. We will try to finish the headliner bows if they are dry tomorrow. Also working on running the lines to the siren and bell. The truck still had the brass line to the siren where the string or cable attached to it. Since the bell was moved to the officers side, the guide line tube was removed. Yesterday I bought some 1/2" soft copper tubing which we will have to thread at one end and flare at the bell side like in the picture I posted.

Forgot to mention this. I somehow need to make one of the front bumper lights green. I know it will be nearly impossible to find a green sealed bulb so another option is to find a clear one and paint it green. I really don't think that will look good. I saw this set of green & red lights on eBay although It will be a pain to try and mount them to the truck. Any suggestions?? Check out the link to the Chicago lights.

If you are going to paint the lens, use a true candy (transparent) color. I don't know if it's still available, but years back they sold colored bulb dips that you could use to change the color of a bulb. Guys would use it on their dash and interior lights to give them a custom color and set a "mood" if you get what I mean. They sell transparent glass paint at craft shops that is used to make a pseudo stained glass look that might work.

The bulb looks like a Wagner 4013 to me.

Thanks 38 Coupe. I see they still make that bulb. I will check the bulb this week.

We built the middle bed bins out of wood today. I forgot my camera so no pics for a few days. I will drop of the bins at the metal shop this week so they can skin em. Then its prep, paint and install them. We didn't work on the bell guide too much today. I just uncoiled the roll and re-opened the holes in the firewall. Once I get the bell bracket back from the chrome shop, we will do the fitting and install.

By the way - no scratch on the hood, just a reflection.

Glad it was a reflection. I figured it had to be if you didn't know it was there. It was too large to miss!
