Ilya, I thought about it. I almost didn't put it on because the Freedman company didn't make the seat covers ... the rest of seats are theirs of course.

I don't think the tag will be visible when the bench seat is in place.

Yes, but you and everyone reading your posts will see that the tag was the only thing not restored on your truck.

Got some of the list done yesterday. The driver’s door panel was more work than just attaching the window regulator and screwing on the panel. The driver’s door was the one door that was completely rebuilt so it didn’t have the cut outs for the door latch. So once we got that done, we had to refit the door and as you can see from the pictures, material had to come off from certain areas. Touch up paint time!! We finished the headliner bow installation and got the heater in. The STOP taillight lenses are ¼ inch too small and just fall through the chrome bezel so some modifications will have to be done. I was happy with the days progress.

Fist pic is the officers door with the original cut out for the latches.

Had to remove some material from the frame too!

Keith,

You are in the home stretch.. Could I have the name and type of your heater. My truck came from the south and did not have factory heat. Yours looks electric

Thanks

Nicely done Keith. Thats shame that you had to take some more material off of the door and frame. That had to have been tough digging into that fresh paint....ooph.

Thats a reall bummer on the "stop" lenses. How are you gonna modify the housings to make them fit?

Bobby

Thanks Bobby. I hate to admit it but that fresh paint is almost a year old already. It still hurt to grind into it. I am going to make some modification to make the lenses work. Gerald suggested getting tubing and making a cut into for the lenses to fit into. I also thought about making a circular plate out of metal and have some 4 tabs in to hold the lenses. We'll figure it out. I will have the seats in this week ... really looking forward to that!

Looking good. What about making a ring out of red plexiglass for the lenses to fit into and then fitting the whole assembly into the trim ring?
