Picked up my truck this morning it's been at the dealer for a week and a half. They replaced the front bumper because of rust, they realigned the left front fender was crooked. They said they redid the flash because all steps weren't done correctly the first time at least that's what they told be. The truck seemed to be driving good shifting good. I stopped in my storage locker to pick up lawn chairs, as I pulled out floored it to make sure it shifted right. Well it didn't did the mixed shift shifting back into 2nd twice before it up shifted to the right gear. The dealer said they couldn't duplicate the problem while they had it, I don't really know what to do. The dealer does what FORD tells them I just can't believe its only a handful us experiencing this problem .
Or maybe some data logging tool they can leave plugged in for a day or two? At which point you drive it as you normally would and if you encountered the issue, it'd be logged.
I'm getting frustrated with this issue. I don't encounter it as near as much as I used to now that the weather has warmed, but it's not right and I'd like it corrected. The 6.7 got its update, where the eff is ours...
Got the update, had the worst shift yet the next day... So bad I thought it might have broken a u-joint or tooth on the the ring and pinnion... Still driving it in hopes that it "learns" how to shift...
The only good part of my flash was I did notice a big MPG improvement. So I'll drive it thru the weekend . Next week I'll try to do the camera thing on the dash to record what its doing so I can show the dealer..
Just got word there is a 6.2 trans update that was just released. It doesn't appear to be near as involved as the diesel update and seems to be mostly related to the trans issue(s). Now to call the dealer for my first oil change (have a whopping 3500 miles in 5 months on the truck), moon roof glass replacement that was scratched on delivery, and finally some PCM attention!
That's good news. Let us know what you find out. Turns out the one they put on mine is from the diesel. Working fine though and have not a problem with it since.
As silverbullet said the tsb is 11-5-19. I'm at the stealership now although I'll be rescheduling as the tsb requires some solenoids to be replaced since mine was built before 11/19/10. I'll post the text for the TSB when I get back to the office.
Thanks for posting this.. Just got off the phone with the service mgr. he wasn't aware of this till I told him. My trucks going back in as soon as I can get a loaner car from them.
I had my 2011 at the dealership yesterday for another issue and I told the tech about my 1 -2 shift so he said he would check for any TSB for the 6.2 as he has done the 6.7 TSB. It was there for my truck. Mine has a build date after the 11/2010 so no there was no solenoids to replace on mine so didn't take very long to install. did not drive it much since then so well have to wait and see.
We well be taking off Monday for AR with the 5er so should be a good test, that is if we can make it out of MT. With all the rain we are having here I-90 was closed from Billings to the WY border and just about the time they opened it up it then flooded at Livingston, MT. It is back to open one lane each way so hopefully it will hold off flooding again till we get out of here. We had more snow in the mountains yesterday. The worst part of all this flooding is we have not really started melting the snow from last winter. They have the gates open on Kerr dam and are letting out as much as they can but they still expect Flathead Lake to flood. Now for some who may not know the size of this lake it is about 7 miles wide and 35 miles long, in fact it is the largest natural body of fresh water west of the Mississippe River before the dam was built. Big lake.

I'm debating having this done even though I'm not having the exact issue it's supposed to cure.
I'll be waiting to hear if you notice a difference. And thanks for the TSB text. I'll have it in hand if I end up at the dealer.
Got it late yesterday - The shop foreman decided to bolt it up with 2 or the 3 solenoids because the 3rd solenoid is on back order for a couple of weeks or so...
I cannot tell a whole lot about the shifting difference yet - gotta get a load of cattle today about 75 miles away so maybe we can see some difference..
