Got my truck back early this afternoon. One thing I did notice was that the gear indicator stays on, but you can shut it off. It goes to how you last had it set, on or off. Also the shifts smoothed out, and I had reset my MPG indicator and it's averaged out around 2mpg more.
I see your in Waterford CT. I am in Central CT, but was wondering what dealership you go to. It seems they are helping you quite abit. I don't know why, but my dealership refuses to acknowledge TSB's, or merely a customer asking questions about something. I actually purchased the canister purge valve on my own dollar and did that TSB myself.
My tranny seems to be getting worse by the day. Every day seems to be something alittle different. This morning for the 1st time, the gear indicator shifted into 3rd before it even shifted into 3rd.

Call the 1-800 Ford customer service number. Tell them you aren't getting any satisfaction with your local dealer. That usually works

I go to Whaling City in New London, my family has been going there a number of years.
I've read this whole thread, but I am a little confused.
Is there a new TSB out?
My trans when cold shifts from 1 to 2 veryyyy hard.
Sometimes it'll go into neutral and rev, rev, rev, then shift to 2nd, and jerk and shake the whole truck. Scared the crap outta the gf. Doesn't do it all the time, and I am unable to replicate. I've already had one problem with blowing a seal out of the trans and having it towed to the shop
Well I got off the phone with the dealer and there was a new tsb
that was issued on wed. They have already reprogram a couple of trucks. Taking mine in on Monday. Hopefully this will finally fix everything.
I called my dealer again today and he said that this new tsb is for trucks built before November, mine was built the first week of November. He told me to bring in my truck again next week and just leave it with them and that a ford engineer will be working with them through something that they will hook up to the truck. He said their transmission guy will drive my truck for a few days so they can try and figure out what is going on. It does just like the others on here, 1, 2 then revvs real high with no power to the ground back to 1, 2 then 4. It only does this after the truck has sat for a while and the transmission is cold. I guess we will wait and see what happens. Still loving the truck other than this issue.

One of our dealers is lying to us...
I checked with my dealer, my truck was built on Sept 30th, and he said the last reflash was for trucks made before that...That I have the latest reflash. I think someone if BSing me.
Well my truck was in the dealer today for the tranny issue's although it hasn't been shifting as bad lately. The cold weather had mine shifting bad all winter now that its warmer the shifting has been better. They did a re-flash I'll give it a few days my immediate economy looks worse just when I thought things were improving. I'm off work a few days I will put it back to the highway test next week. They also cleaned up the rust on my front bumper and applied some kind of sealant on the bumper back & sent a picture to Ford.
stuffdeer - They didn't specify the exact mfg date that the tsb covers. Mine was built in November and he just said it was for trucks built before then.
Im starting to think this is the worst truck I've ever had.
First, the blown transmission seal at 3k miles, rough shifting always, sirius radio going out, and now I have a" check gas cap" message that wont go off! And yes, I've removed it and retightened it. And im still only getting 8mpg.
Love this truck...not, wish I could get my 07 Harley back
I generally post over in the 6.7L forum, however this should be clarified here as well. Note that TSB 11-04-21 6.7L Calibration Update is specific to the 6.7L Diesel Only.
However, the 6.2L Gas calibration update will hopefully be available late next week based on what I've been advised today. Some of the changes will be similar as they are specific to the 6R140.
Well after my re-flash my truck still does it. It's actually often worse than before, it's smoother going down through the gears but going up it sometimes slips between 2nd and 3rd still (now when warm), sometimes between 3rd and 4th and often slams between 5th and 6th. I have 500 miles since the reflash.
Here's from my dealer paperwork when I had TSB 10-21-13 done, plus 11-1-5 for the canister vent valve for a non-trans related issue.
"CUSTOMER STATES: WHEN COLD DOESNT SHIFT WELL WHEN COLD, SLAMS.
ROAT TEST, KEOR, CMDTCS, PASS, PERFORM TSB 10-21-13, AFTER REPROGRAMMING, MIL LIGHT CAME ON, SETTING CODE P1639, COULD NOT CLEAR CODE, EMAIL HOTLINE, HAD TO UPDATE IDS TO NEW VERSION AND REPROGRAM PCM AGAIN"
Now I don't know what half of those acronyms are but I guess they had to re-flash twice. The dealer guy said they could not duplicate the issue but did the TSB anyway since I mentioned that one time where it slipped 3 or 4 times going between 2nd and 3rd... it felt so bad it felt like I had a clutch slip on a manual and then it just grabbed and jerked the truck to hell.
