Bought my truck December of last year but only have 4300 miles on it and it has had the shifting issues since day one. Doesnt happen very often. I did have the truck stumble at a 1-2 shift. When it happened the gear indicator was alternating between 1 and 2 really fast. After about 4 seconds the truck took off. Not really a big deal but I was pulling out into traffic and almost got t-boned. Taking truck in next week for the update.
Has any one else had this happen, I was pulling my small back hoe a little over 10,200 and the truck did not want too shift out of 2nd rpm's at 6000, had to let off for it to shift.I thought it was going to blow.

I had this problem 2 trans flashes ago right after I got it in February. The first flash made it better. Just had it updated to the brand new flash last Friday. Headed out with the travel trailer Wednesday and I expect this issue to be resolved. Crossing my fingers.
This problem is not near as bad as what happened to me over the 4th. I was decelerating in tow haul and it shifted down into 1st, at 5500 rpms and got stuck. Went to manual to get it to move from 1st and lets just say I was sure I was going to be picking up parts on the road, when it finally shifted. That was the impetus for the latest flash for me.

Yep... I've noticed that. Even if I lift off the throttle it holds it for a second or two before it'll shift.
But... my so called Factory Trained technicians waffle between swearing that that is normal behavior and "not able to reproduce", so I'll let it explode and let warranty handle it.
Well its official. At least in my opinion. The new solenoids and flash did not solve my trans problem. Almost got creamed the other day when the tranny failed and it took almost 2 full seconds to engage.
I called the service advisor and he tried to feed me the bs on relearning my driving habits. Since that failure its happened three more times in the last week. I am beginning to think its going to take a few people getting killed before FMC takes this seriously.
I bought this truck because of the 6.2 and 6 speed so I hope they find a solution before I change from a die hard Ford man to??? I really wished it would have worked.

yes I just got off work driving home about 35 mph downhill, it stuck in lower gear for about 20 seconds, engine rev over 4000 rpm. I had to slow down, thought she was going to blow..
My f-250 2011 is in the shop tore apart as we speak, parts they tell me might come in the end of july

That's good to hear. You are fortunate that to get the parts. I have been waiting for 2 mo for parts. The dealer just called Friday to tell me they were finely in and scheduled to have the update done on next Friday.
Just got a call from my service writer - my parts are in for the 2-3 shift flare problem on my early built 6.2L F350.
I head out on a 9 day dirtbike camp fish dog hike adventure Sat morning towing my 10,000lb travel trailer and 4 dirtbikes in the bed, so I will wait for the TSB update until I get back.
I will report on performance here in a few weeks. But the backordered parts are finally arriving at the dealership....

Both holding 6000rpm in second towing WFO up a steep hilll and downshifting as needed are completely normal and expected for this powertrain combo...
He was referring to downhill.
This is normal for it to downshift in tow haul mode if going downhill and appoint the brake. It is the truck using the engine to help keep the speed in check as you desend. Revving at 4k will not hurt it any.
Just spent the morning on Friday at the dealer to have the solenoids replaced and the new programing. 2 1/2 hrs later they only replaced 2 of the three solenoids. Apparently they don't know for sure what ones they need until they open up the trans, so they had to order another one for mine. Has any one else had this happen when the went to replace them? They said to drive it and see if replacing the 2 along with the update fixed the problem with the 2-3rd shift. Well it has not!!!! As a matter of fact it is now worse. Today it happened again and went dead went back to 2nd then tried to shift to 3rd and did it again all while pulling out across traffic not a good feeling. I will need to call the dealer in the morning to complain.
