Racetec, any more word from Ford? I'm about to take the truck back... Seems like any time I hop in and take off when it's cold it does it every time, often twice or more and sometimes in multiple shifts.
Nothing from Ford yet again, I called the regional manager and emailed my dealers service manager. No response from either at this point... My tranny fluid is starting to smell burnt, so I am sure failure isn't far off... I am really nervous towing our trailer with the kids now, I dont want to break down on the side of the road with them... We actually made a seperate trip to get the trailer to our camping spot last weekend without the kids... Now we will drive the expedition up to the trailer, this sucks!
Well I just got off the phone with the dealer. He stated there was a bullentin not to reprogram any pcm right now. They are having some software issues and a new flash is in the works.
2 days and no issue with the shifting. The other night though it didn't slip but shifted hard into 5th getting on the highway and it made the whole truck jump. It felt like I had a shift kit in it...
After I drive the truck and let it set for a couple of hours it shifts 1st, 2nd, neutral, then a delay and back to 1st , 2nd then 4th does not find 3th gear. going to the dealer next week
My truck threw a "Check 4x4" message at me this weekend when shifting into 4wd. Got it to the dealer yesterday to have them fix that and told them the tranny was doing some funny shifting and that there was a reflash that would fix it. The service adviser said he'd never heard of any problems, etc.
They called in the afternoon to tell me that they were changing out the transfer case shift motor and that they were reflashing the PCM, as they'd found a TSB about the issue (10-21-13).
Picked it up last night and first thing I noticed that it seems to be idling a lot quieter. In the cab, I can't even tell the engine is running. Seems to be idling at 550 RPM or so.
The drive home was done moderately as I figure the tranny should be in learning mode and I didn't want to teach it any bad habits
I'm hoping that this resolves my shifting issue, but from what everyone else is saying, I suspect not...
I have yet to notify my dealer. It only does it the first couple of shifts, so I won't be concerned about it until it starts throwing codes. When it goes to see it's dealer in a few thousand for regular maintenance, it will be getting TSB 11-1-5 (ticking) and TSB 10-21-13 performed.
I called the dealer yesterday I'm taking it in the 21 for a overnight stay. I told them the tranny shifts stupid when its cold the first few minutes till it warms up. Also told them about my rust on the front bumper . The newest problem is the Reverse Aid doesn't work and it shows on the dash you have to click OK to clear the screen. So there are several things for them to work on I have 14,450 mi on the truck.

Go to the 6.7 forum involving this issue. More info given.Shortcut was given in the first few pages. A Ford engineer is also responding there. They are now suggesting not getting the latest flash until they work out some bugs. I have not checked it in 5-6 days so some new info might be there. So far no problems with mine - knock on wood.
I Got My Truck Back From Dealer On Tuesday They Perform TSB 10-21-13 And Today The Transmision Started Acting Up Again. Taking Back To Dealer On Monday.

At least they are working on it.
My buddy was told it was his driving habits in the cold weather. We'll see about that as soon as it warms up.
That cold weather might be right our temps have been up and I can't say I noticed it this morning. But I can't have it not going when the temps are down. My reverse sensors have stopped working most of the time ,intermittent problem's aren't good the camera still works though.

No problems in Arizona with the transmission shifting. Yes it is warmer here and I have about 1,000 on my new truck and never missed a shift. Build date was Feb 28, 2011. Hope your problems get found and fixed.
