According to the TSB they should know which ones to replace by the production date of your truck.
Thats what I thought but they told me they could only put in 2 of them and that the 3rd one they had if they put it in would not work and make the shifting worse. I will let you know what they say after I talk to them this afternoon.
Well I just finished talking with the service manager about the solenoids. He told me that the ones in the tsb are the most common ones that need to be installed and that they are not the same in all trans. they can only tell for sure by opening up the trans and that they can not tell by the vin#. They have the thrd one on emergency order from Friday and should see it today or tomorrow. They will call when it comes in and will come to me with another SD truck to use and take mine back to repair. I guess that I can't complain about that because they are located over an hour away.

To me, that sounds suspect. The build date is indicative of which solenoids you have and whether or not they need to be replaced.
Either way, hopefully they'll get them all replaced, give you the trans flash (wonder if they have to do it again with a new solenoid to relearn?), and you'll be on your way......without the shift issues! Keep us posted.
You are pretty lucky getting another SD to use. You are the first person I have heard of getting a similar truck to use. Hopefully it won't take long and you will be together again.
Got mine last November, only 4000 km on it. It's had a small slip twice but today had a bad one. Took about 5 -6 seconds to shift out of second. It dies off but is still revving. It sounded like it was jumping between 1st and 3rd but not engaging. Better make my appointment.
Had a real bad "slip" today while towing the 5ver--not cool. It did the stall out and then slammed into 3rd and made the hitch slam dang hard. I have ignored it until now but I can't be havig it do that again.
Just got back from Wisconsin my truck was really acting up and not shifting right. The thought of breaking down while out of town is downright scarey .Now my low tire light is also on, all the tires are aired up I need to pull the spare down tomorrow to check it out. Does anyone know how to reset that stupid light on the dash???

Just put air in the tire that needs it and drive for a couple of miles and the sensor will reset on it's own. I had to do the same thing a week after I got my truck, tires were down to 45 lbs each but no problem since. They must have let some air out during shipping.
I have been a very faithful Ford owner since 1986. My last Ford(06 w/6.0) and now this one have been less then anyone would put up with. I have not towed my camper all summer because of my transmission. There has been little glitches example rusty bumper -replaced , my phone won't stay connected even bought a new phone, back up sensors broke, now this tire preasure thing & my fuel economy I felt could have been better. The tires are at factory spec's been driving 600 mi I would have expected the sensor to reset by now. I'm trading my Ford in on a competitors diesel, it is similar equipped but doesn't look compare in - HOW NICE MY FORD LOOKS.
I hope I am not kicking myself in the butt next week ... Good Luck everyone !
Mine in today for the TSB, will report.... I am still a happy owner... like the '11 gasser much better than my '06 6.0L.
I get mid 14mpg empty in most conditions. Live at 7,000', have 25k miles. Tow the tar out of my travel trailer and haul the truck camper and dirtbikes and ..... my mileage varies down to mabye 5mpg on E85 towing the big trailer up major climbs at or above the speed limit. Most often I get around mid 8 mpg when towing trailer at 70-75 mph at elevation in rolling hill conditions. About 25% worse than my old 6.0L manual tranny diesel. What I would expect comparing diesel to gas of similar performance.
Run E85 when I can get it and 87 oct and usually 91 octane when heavy towing.
I have had the 2-3 shift flare occur maybe 100 times since I bought the truck, but never when heavy towing. So the shift flare is more of a nuisance and concern about long term tranny longevity than an issue while driving.
Hope they fix the 2-3 problem today.
I am running an old set of wheels with no pressure senders in them right now. But this fall when I put the studdies in I will ask my dealer to reprogram the TPMS down to maybe 45 psi.
BTW, mine is a stripper XL package, nice vinyl seats and rubber floors and I don't have a clue about phones connecting to trucks and back up sensors...
Guys, sorry if this has been mentioned, but I'm not going back and reading every page of this thread. Sorry....
In a 6.7 forum somewhere, they have some 20+ page thread on tranny issues. I ended up reading a few of the last pages, and someone described something on there that is EXACTLY what my truck does, and makes perfect sense.
My truck shifts from 2nd to 3rd, and in 3rd, it kinda seemed like it slipped. You could see the rpm's drop like 300-400. Then is would pull through 3rd, and shift 4th. That is it. This is at light throttle (normal driving).
The way it was described was this was the convertor was locking up. Previous to these trannies, it would only lock up in 4th (or maybe 5th), but now it locks up anywhere past 3rd gear and approximatley 35-37mph or so. I read this, and when I drove home, I noticed this was exactly what my truck is doing. You just feel alittle something coming through 3rd, and that's it.
Not sure this describes everyones issues, but thought I would post it. I don't know whether or not a re-flash would fix this.
