I had my first experience leaving work today for lunch with the "dead fish" as I like to call it with the tranny. I pulled out of the drive, got going a bit, then pushed on the gas pedal prolly to about a little higher than normal acceleration, and it just cuts out. No more forward momentum,no high rev, engine is running fine just like it "popped" out of gear without the high rev part. When I let off the wee pedal, it did nothing for prolly 2 secs then went "clunk" into 4th. Hoping a tune takes care of this. I'm sure it is a computer issue. I will get a tuner after break-in.
Can anyone confirm? I thought the gas & diesel both had the saMe tranny with different programming. Is this right or wrong? Shop foreman just said thAt they were NOT the same & the 6.2 got the same as f-150 & expeditions. Call me a dumbA$$ but I need to know before letting them touch my rig

Interesting... but i am pretty sure 6.2 and 6.7 uses same tranny. Maybe shop foreman is thinking of the F150 w/6.2L.
The 6.2 & 6.7 super duty's use the same 6 speed tranny. They are just programmed differently. As fordmdb stated, maybe he was speaking of the F150's with the 6.2.
Well Got the Tranny done...
armed with the TSB number from fz1dave they were able to confirm & update. Also showed them the spec sheet that Mike sent me that shows both gas & Diesel have the same transmission.. The Oasis showed a number NOT Torqueshift but the Shop foreman talked to some folks & they confirmed that indeed it is the same trans.
They did have a CEL so they had to apply some other data but got her done. It seems to be working good & has to re-learn process.. The one difference that you can see is the 1-6th gear lights will stay on after restarts like the post flash diesel..
Hopefully the "hunting" for a gear is overwith... even though it didn't happen much - I had a few cases of it...

The tuner from Mike didn't help that? How long before you can put the "tune" back in after the re-flash since it has to re-learn?

Actually I am not sure about the tuner helping - I had a few Isolated issues with the trans but I have been back & forth on stock to do some testing with mileage numbers between 93 perf/tow, 93 stock, 87 stock.. It may be that Mikes was solid & the stock gave me a few issues but unfortunately I didn't document everything - Also I know that 1 1-2 shift issue was on Stock..
I will have to get Mike to rework my tuner before I can put tuners back - if I understand correctly - Or at least we have to trade some files for the tuner..
I am going to run stock for the next few weeks anyway...

Ford did get it right and did right by you! They take care of you... fix your problem... and then you bail?
Just so you know.....I don't just use my truck to ride around and look good I earn my living with it....My last truckbefore this ford was a 2010 Super Duty V10 6 speed manual 4.10....when I saw this new truck and came here to this forum I was impressed I had to have one....My 2011 was equipped with a 4.30 and I had to go to West Va to get it from Illinois.... long story short I broke it or it broke whatever I tried to buy back my 2010 but it was sold... still the best truck I ever had... I bought the dodge as it had a manual and got the Cummins as they have no real gas engine that I would have.....In a one year span I spent over 90 grand with Ford Motor Co. Don't say I just bailed that's bs. The truck just didn't work for me !
I'll stand by my opinion. If you had a recurring issue or multiple issues that weren't addressed, then yeah, maybe it would be time to move on. Unless you're holding back, you had one issue, it was resolved, and you jumped ship.
That's a bail.
Just one other observation...you typed in blue when you drove the ford, now it's what... fuscia? Must be a Dodge thing.
