There's no one size fits all truck or engine for everyone. It all depends on what you want to use the truck for, what your performance priorities are, how long you plan to keep it, how many miles you plan to put on it, and a ton of other factors. I prefer to own a diesel for engine life and piece of mind when towing and have other vehicles for when fuel consumption is a concern, but that's just what suits me.
True, also forgot both dually's
the v10 is an extended cab 4x4 with 3.73 while the 7.3 were cclb 4x4 3.73, and obviously the diesel weighing a heck alot more, thats more than a fair comparison , the v10 could not hold a candle against a 7.3 let alone agaist the 6.0
Believe me ive driven the trucks mention to give an accurate rating not bashing on the 6.8 I also like it but would not be my first choice if I tow heavy, heck my 5.4 excursion is great, but when it comes to towing my Mule is the one that gets to have fun
I've driven 2V V10s with 3.73 and 4.30 and the 4.30 was my DRW and there is no comparison between the two, I've also driven a 7.3 with 3.73 gears and I think my DRW V10 with 4.30 gears would out pull it. I was pulling a load with the 7.3 and I wasn't impressed. Now last month I went with a friend to pick up a new to him 6.7 with 3.73 gears and I was totally impressed with, I didn't pull a load but it had a lot of get up and go for a diesel, it would give my 6.2 with 4.30 gears a run for it's money off the line but the 6.2 would win IMO. Next April we will be pulling from Vacaville CA to Spring Creek NV with them, we both have 16K 5vers so I will have good fell for the 6.7 with 3.73 gears compared to my 6.2 with 4.30 gears, I'm sure the 6.7 will out pull me but not leave me in the dessert dust ðŸ˜
Yes, your 2013 V10 will certainly out pull the 7.3, especially if the 7.3 is stock, you have 4:30 gears, and an extra gear in the transmission. As to how it will stand up against the 6.7 for towing? My money's on the diesel.

I got to drive a 3v v10 with 4.30, to see what the hype is about, but I know for a fact that a 2v v10 with 3.73 does not stand a chance against a 7.3 with 3.73

I have no doubt that any SD configuration can carry the load. "Hauling" the load is another matter. That is a subjective term that has many interpretations. It can be going uphill at 70mph, getting on the freeway in front of the hybrid next to you, or passing an unloaded Chevy while you are towing a 10K trailer.
For me, my younger years are disappearing in my rear view mirror. I don't get a new truck every few years, I only trust myself to work on my truck, and I would like to get there every time I start my engine. I am more about keeping everything in the green when driving than how fast/quick I can go. For me the only answer is my antiquated 7.3L. At 284K it has served me well and the only phone call I've ever had to make on the side of the road was once and that was to let my wife know I was running late because I had a tire blow out and was putting the spare on. My maintenance costs are a little higher due to the larger capacities that I have to change/flush but I think I make it back with fewer stops at the gas station and the fact that diesel has been cheaper than unleaded for some time now.
If you would have asked me 10 years ago I would have waved the spark plug flag (I had a '97 F-150 5.4L) but after owning my compression ignition dinosaur for over 8 years now I'll never go back (even if I knew I would never tow with it). If I could get my wife to like any cars that they put a diesel in I'd buy her one in a second, unfortunately she hates them all.

Just my .02
I had my last truck a 2000 DRW V10 with 4.30 gears for 13 year and I plan on keep my present 2013 for at least the same or longer.
Like mentioned before most of them havent used a diesel before, this is what you call aero drag a perfect square without rounded edges. And the truck is not even loaded with the bundles
I don't know now much a 7.3 or 6.0 can pull but this is what I pulled with my 2000 V10 with 4.30 gears, same load I pull with the 6.2. This is the only thing my trucks are used for. Note the 11300 ft elevation, the trailer scales at 15700.
Some diesel owners just hate when a V10/ 6.2 is pulling the same as them at the same high elevation. Maybe it's high elevation sickness or just the fumes from their trucks.
