I know there are a butt load more diesels out there than v10s so there is going to be more PSD's to work on but this still makes me love my v10 .
Lower down and not in the picture they advertise their magic mechanic, lol!
Those are some really impressive prices for a name brand rebuild installation. Still far pricier than an equivalent job on a gas truck, and much more likely to happen IMHO.

I like 2 strokes. They need to be redesigned to not include the oil with the fuel (or a way to oil the bearings without including it with the fuel) but firing on every stroke just makes sense.
Years and years ago before I owned a SuperDuty I had a chance to drive a stock 7.3. I was still an enthusiast and new all about diesels as my buddy was a big dodge fan with modded cummins trucks.
Comparing the feeling of my V10:
That 7.3 made a whole heck of a lot of noise and just didn't feel like it moved. It was no slouch but compared to a 3V V10 no way. Even in those "Ford Truck Meet" videos the 7.3 that participated did not fare well against the other trucks.
I also had an extended test drive with an 03 or 04 6.0. It was a reg cab XL. Again made a ton of noise but definitely scooted. Glad I didn't end up with that mess of a truck (not just the 6.0 but the whole truck screamed don't buy me".
The noise just kept me out of those trucks. The V10 is just plain quiet in my 08.
I dare not test drive a 6.7 though as it'll make me want it. But I will say after reading the rare event horror story, to the tune of $20k, no thanks. I know of a few V10 failures that cost upwards of $10k for a new motor so anything comes with risk. But I don't want to feel like I need to document every fuel fill and every maintenance item to hope I'm covered under a warranty for the "I can tow at 75 on cruise control up a 7% grade for 20 miles".
But without a doubt these diesel are amazing power machines. My buddy's trucks have proved that for sure.
But it says something that the V10 is still being used in the 450/550 chassis trucks and in the 650. Those are working trucks and the V10 was kept due to it's friendliness to the working truck.
I only wish my V10 was made after they finally got the plugs right. Grrrrr
