It's Gas vs. Diesel as the thread title alludes to. This is a Ford site so we're all (mostly) in agreement on the Ford vs. Chevy vs. Dodge (Ram) argument. No fun in that.
I would have thought you'd have a diesel as everyone I've met from there tells me everything's bigger in Texas.

I guess my POINT went over badly.. it was a joke. Chevy/Ford/Dodge.
first see my screen name... second see my location...
Chuck's First Ford... and I live in Ohio.. first year as a Winter Texan...
how come most all dually's are 4x4 and Diesel.. I under stand the Diesel....but 4x4?????
Probably because they haven't been motivated to come to FTE for anything because they never have any problems
That very well could be. Or they are out still waiting for the tow truck to arrive.

I will agree with this! It is amazing how many have diesels that never pull or haul anything but their butt. I do see one woman come to the grocery store across the street from me every week with a diesel excursion. Seems like over kill for a daily commuter to me. But maybe she did own a gasser at one time and wanted a cool X.
I've had my 6.2 gasser for over 3 years with no major problems. My last diesel cost me over 10k in repair bills not counting missed work days. If you want a ticking time bomb buy a diesel!

Diesels cost more than gassers to maintain. They break down more often. Just go to the diesel forums and look at the problems they have. Then go to the 6.2 forum and no one has any major problems with these motors at all.

I had a 2015 f250 6.2L so I know how they are and if you think they don't have any major problems then you need to look again. They drink gas like I do water on 100 degree day. They also go through oil like nobody's business. And they don't tow worth a crap. I don't care what you say or other people say if you hook up 12k pounds or more on the back of a 6.2L super duty with 3.73 or 4.30 gears you live in the higher rpms and its a slow turd. Is it better than the 5.4? yes night and day difference cause I also had a 2008 F250 5.4L. Trust me I know how they towed cause I hauled CAT 303 mini excavators and 259B track skid steers on a 25ft flatbed goose neck and it was horrible for that. Combined weight of trailer and equipment was 15k pounds or so.
If you are actually going to use the truck for what it can do and be close to the max tow and hauling weight then you need to get a diesel. If you buy it for a little towing here and there and the weight is 10k pounds or less and do more hauling then towing then get a gasser.

I've pulled up to 11k with no problems. My truck doesn't use any oil towing or regular use. I don't see anyone complaining of using oil with the 6.2. Your way off with that comment.
