Now, with roughly 140 hp more power available, around town it gets 13-14 (mostly due to the 4000 stall converter and spending alot of time in 1st gear), and mixed driving will get 16-18. But highway trips are just over 20. I'm not gonna complain really-a high 11/low 12 second N/A car that weighs nearly 3700lbs with a little 281ci engine that gets over 20 mpg.

Johnny, a 12 second 4.6l is no major feat. I took my wifes 07 mustang GT when I bought her the the 2010 GT for Christmas. I had 4:10 gears installed and tuned it with a sct tuner. My very best time is 12.4 second, I usually hang around the 12.7 mark. My best 0-60 is 5 second flat. 5.1 and 5.2 is my norm. I had a driver drive my car for me his 3 runs where 11.9 and 2 12.1s. His 0-60s was 4.7 and 2 4.9s. I get 23-24 mpg on the highway @ 65 mph.
The 2010 GT came w/ 3:73s and is stock other than the sct tuner my fastest ET is 12.6 my norm is 12.9. My 0-60s is 5.4. I haven't had this car driven yet. I'm sure this car will net better than my best in the 07 by a driver. This car gets 28 mpg on the highway at 65 mph on the highway. These cars highway milage is due to the OD. I bet the 6 speeds get even better.
No big stalls no major aftermarket modds and n/a both cars is knocking on 12 seconds and doing better than 20 mpg and both pulling under 2100 rpm @ 65 mph. Lowering the rpms by cruiseing at lower speeds 55-65 has seen 26 mpg in the 07 and 31 mpg in the 2010. Of course the stated mpg is @ 55 mph.
1 thing I forgot to mention was the 07 was stock w/ 3:55s and its milage was around 26 mpg at 65 mph. That's the best I can remember I didn't really drive it much back then. A couple times I drove it when we went to Gatlinburg that's what I figured.

A 12 second 2v with an automatic in a heavy car NA is pretty uncommon.
Most of the tbirds and vics with the same stuff done only run 13s.

The cars you're referencing(2007/2010 GT) have 3V 4.6L's and have a significant hp advantage right off the floor. My little 2V was rated at a measly 210 hp, and the 2007/2010 3V is rated at 300hp. BIG difference in power just to start, and with VCT on top of that. Tbirds when stock run 15.90-16.0 in the 1/4 mile. Drop over 3.5 seconds off of that 2007 or the 2010 in the 1/4 mile and then we'll talk about it not being that hard.

I wouldn't either. I'd be thrilled to death. I've just always been impressed with the fuel economy of most 4.6 Tbirds--especially considering their size and weight.

My 1995 Cobra with the 5.0 got over 20mpg and ran 13s with the stock HCI, just bolt ons and a custom dyno tune. Another guy with an identical car and identical mods except an aftermarket cam and longtubes did a 12.8 and still got 20mpg so it isn't just "newfangled tech" that can do it lol.

I've since upped my 5.0s output to over 300whp and it no longer gets 20mpg...

A guy I work with has a worked 6.0 PSD that he is hoping to get mid 12s with, it makes stupid amounts of power but again, fuel mileage was not a concern...

I've always been of the mindset that mileage was not too big a deal when you buy something with a big motor that weighs 7,000+ lbs. The fact that the PSDs can get the mileage they do is nuts honestly...

That's my whole point. See what I was saying was that the 4.6ls has a lot of potentual. Its not hard to get 300 hp out of that 2v rat. Underdrive pulleys, aftermarket heads, and a sct tuner will getcha just north of 300 hp. A taller gearset will top it off. I wouldn't have gone 4:88 but if it gets the job done that all its suppose to do.
I'd like to find me an 04 tbird. I have a 99 lighting engine complete that I would like to drop off in it. I have the complete drive train includeing rearend. I'll have to get the rearend cut to fit or find me on that fill fit. I don't know if the stock rearend will hold up.

What? A mustang weighs 3500bs. Its not hard to get 300 horses out 2v 4.6l. There's several garage built cobras/stedas/salens etc around here pushing 350-400 hp. The tuffest descision is wiethet to keep it n/a or not. With paxton, whipple, eaton, or even a vortech is in easy reach. Best yet you don't have to cruise at 2700 rpm.

And pigs fly. If you believe that, you're totally hopeless.
The invitation is open. Drop 3.5 seconds of either of your 3V Mustangs without a power added, then we'll talk.

SN95 Mustangs-You know, the ones with 2V 4.6L's, weigh 3100-3200 lbs. Tbirds weigh 3700-3800 depending on equipment. Crown Vics weigh 4000+lbs.

SN95s weigh about 3400 lbs. Foxbody notchbacks were the ones that came in around 3100lbs stock.

But we are off topic. Plus, getting a 7,000lb+ Super Duty to go any sort of "fast" is going to probably require double 300whp at LEAST.

Now, load them pulling a hard grade and it might not be that way.
The 6.7 cuts fuel to hold EGTs down and the 6.2 won't.

Oh I know mustangs. You know the sn95s 94-04 has 2 different body styles. They changed on 99-04. We can talk about em until you decide to quit. I have a weigh ticket of my 96 cobra weighing 3300 lbs. These 2 in my garage weights 3500. But what's the point. I didn't say anything about keeping it stock. You used power adders. Why can't I?

V10 vs PSD

I bought a used 03 V10 F350 SD crew a couple of months ago to tow my 31' travel trailer. I was towing it up the Fraser Canyon highway loaded 9000lbs (lots of long hills) and the V10 lost most of it's momentum after about 30 seconds of the hill. As I started chugging up the hill at about 2500 rpm(50kmh) I observed numerous diesels "blasting" past me pulling travel trailers and 5th wheels, some bigger that mine! I have to say, so far, I have diesel envy. The unfortunate part is, I have put some money into my V10 and will never get it out on resale (ie transmission and engine), so I am planning to increase some towing power with a cold air intake, a tuner and later a flowmaster exhaust. It will never be a diesel, I know that

If you're gonna tow....get a diesel!!!!!!!
