Why do you say a pick up handles better than a van?
Mine had bad tires, steering gear, ball joints and tie rods at the time.
maybe the fact that It is a 98 is the limiter difference.
I think that both trucks use the same computer, but maybe 98 V10s had different tuning or is it that all SD vans have 105mph limiters?

I say that from my experience driving them. At least 15 passenger ones. They are not as solid on the road as my pickup at least from my experience.

Very strange. I drove Ford vans when I was in the army, and they seemed much more planted than my truck. This solid front axle thang feels like jell-o compared to the vans I drove.

I've always thought of it as the price we pay for the durability.

Well, I think they are about the same IF you have the same set up.
tires change it, gvwr of the springs change it etc.
I have driven 2 SD pick ups and this SD van that I own.
One of the pick ups was better, one was worse than my E350.
BTW crazy, I have both a DRW pick up and the SRW van both with the Twin I beam, and I am very happy with both on durability.

Bill, I did NOT mean to say anything about the Twin I-beam durability.

Just that the solid front axle is probably the toughest 4x4 setup currently offered in any truck. And it handles like CRAP!

If I didn't need 4x4 I'd much rather a twin I-beam like yours...handles much better...

I did buy a V10 for towing.

I wanted a truck that would tow well and often. Not be towed.

Actually there is one nice thing about the V10 that is completely underrated, you get to meet the locals at every gas station. You also never have to worry about having to stop to go to the bathroom, very conveinent when you have kids!

You could also say that about the 6.0. You get to become very friendly with dealership service departments/personel.

Better to say "I have to stop and get gas" then ask "Can I have a ride?"
