Like said above, Ford's marketing target numbers are around 14% for the V10's back when the 2-valvers were being sold.
Because of that, many people are pushed to PSDs by dealers.
If anyone has actual numbers of units sold by year, I would be very interested in that information.
Well if Ford only makes what they want to sell, that kind of sets up the numbers, right? Around here you don't find non-PSD Super Duties on the lot. It's de facto diesel!
Note: I can only find info on total sales, not model/configuration specific info.
As a reminder to all, the PSD in every form other than the 7.3 and 6.0 is superior to all other motors. The 7.3 and 6.0 is specifically superior to the V10 of various displacements. That is all.
What does that mean? There's only 2 psd's that has higher specs than the 6.0.

BINGO! Made ya think a bit? Just showing some diesel love.

There is only one displacment of V10 too, 6.8L.
ANY V10. Think outside the Super Duty box. I will exclude the Dodge Viper, Audi R8, Lexus LFA, Lamborghini Gallardo and the Porsche Carrera GT... mostly because I can and those are some cool cars.
You two have no idea what a sarcastic remark tastes like that's for sure... Sheesh. I have a hard time believing anyone takes this thread as seriously as advertised but apparently someone does.
I refer you to my previous statement...
"This thread is like watching two rednecks argue over who has a hotter sister."
I actually never tested the governor on my shoebox.
Can't afford it
At 75 mph it is pretty close to redline.
The PCM limits the F-series to 95 and the E-series to 105.
Of course, 4.88 gears and a low revving engine and you might redline out first like in your case.
Due to lower tire speed ratings, the trucks with 19.5s have a much lower limiter.
Whats better? I am a proud Triton V10 man and will never get a PSD as long as ford makes the V10. What are the PSD's high points?
Really, do I have to say? It's a DIESEL. Stock for stock you WILL NOT OUT PULL A PSD!!! Or any other of the big three diesels of the same year of your V10.
I am a loyal diesel fan....but I am not so sure that a stock 95 PSD will outpull a stock V10 of the same year....if one was available that year. The stock PSD for 95 was not very impressive...LOL
No it didn't. It just brought up the question do you know anything about the psd other than you drive on? If even.
Nope, I don't know jack and I certainly have not learned anything from you... But I have hope for the future.
Apparently you are confused because you may be under the impression that my previous statement compares the 7.3 and 6.0 to the 6.4 and 6.7... That was not my intention. I think the 6.7 is better than the 6.4, the 6.4 is better than the 6.0 or 7.3 and the 6.0 and 7.3 are a toss up. Edge, if any, to the 7.3 for fewer emissions crap. Now, I have only owned a 6.4 and have driven the 6.7, so my opinion is just that, an opinion... Important to me, not important to you, just like everyone else.
