My wife gets the Explorer and I get the 05 Montana, the visibilty in bad weather is terrible the side windows, mirrors and windshield allways get plugged up. I can see perfect out of the rear window lol. the traction is OK, but it comes in handy for the hockey and baseball gear. I think we might get a new one for my wife and I'll get the Explorer.
I tested out a ford suv a couple years ago, and it was a decent vehicle, would love one with a 5.0 in it, as I really hate ford v-6 engines! (except maybe the new eco-boosts)
What sold us on the Jeep is the engine plain and simple. Its so good on fuel, got a high tow rating, and the rest of it is decent as well.
A few years back when we were looking for a new vehicle, my wife wanted a Toyota 4-Runner. We seen one at a local dealership and went to look at it, when we got there it was sold. The salesman said he had an 06 Eddie Bauer Explorer coming in on trade, my wife said " there's no way in hell I'd be caught dead driving a ford nevermind an Exploder!!!" Well I said we'll just look at it when it comes in. We got the call a few days later that it came in, after 20 minutes of arguing she said she'd take a look. When we drove around back she saw it in the lot and said " hey, that's not a bad looking truck" She and my oldest went for a test drive and left the little one with me, after a 45 minute test drive she came back and said " I take back what I said about Ford's let's but it!" the rest is history.
