You shimmed your clutch peddle down even with your brake. Nice work.
i haven't yet figured out how i will shim mine downward 2-inches.
Thanks guys!! This truck has been in my mind for about 20 years, and I’m finally getting to build it. I want to name it but can’t come up with a cool name, and “ole blue” seems kinda over used. Shoot some name ideas my way. 😁 I just got new seals and window felts for the front doors. I didn’t buy any for the rear doors yet cause wasn’t sure if the same seals and felts would fit them.

So I ordered a rim from B&R Auto Wrecking, and it was about 35 bucks I think. They had to ship it from Reno to Vegas, to their sister yard here I guess. Anyway, the guy told me that it was a rim only, even though there was a tire on it in the picture. I said fine, as it was only listed as a rim. Well, yesterday I ran over there to pick it up, and damn if it didn't have an almost new tire on it! Made my friggin day! I thought I was going to have to pay almost 200 bucks for a tire to match my others.

It is about an inch taller than the others, but for now, and seeing as how I didn't have a spare before, It will have to do. I had to paint it match the other wheels, and then tested my winch assembly that I built a couple weeks ago, and it works great!

The exhaust is about an inch closer than I had figured, obviously due to the larger tire, but I am going to either build a sheet metal heat shield, or wrap the exhaust pipe right there with the heat tape, or both.

Need to drill another hole in the hitch mount on both sides, and put a third bolt in each side of that.

Looking good. Here is an easy way to drill them holes in the frame rails. Now of course do not go to town on that jack handle and make drill killing amounts of pressure.

It has been here the whole time....https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1023069-new-71-a-37.html#post19967595 Honestly I found the idea on the web a while back and jumped on using it like a hobo on a ham sandwich.

No more laying on your back with hot metal shavings going all over you.

I think I may die on my back. on cardboard so I'll be comfortable at least. LoL
So I like that "Analog-Mag-Drillpress" contraption and a good alternate use of a floor jack.
I had to get a piece of grinding metal plucked from my eye in early April while up in between the frame rails of my E-250 Van. I had the fuel tanks out, so it was a good time to remove a scrappy looking mount bracket of some sort by a previous owner.
Drilling a 1/2" hole through the frame rail of an F-350 takes some cardio and hope. hahahaha

I've use a corded 1/2 D handle big drill like that on a jack, but I tend to use a 2x4 on top of another stood up scrap as a lever under my Dewalts. I just replaced a chuck on my biggest Dewalt, amazing them tiny gears in the transmission.

I only cut off the rib (that the plastic snapped into) at either end of the cab, because it made a smoother radius. Cutting it all out, would leave a odd curvature, and I just wanted it to be smooth like in the front and back of the cab. The stuff I have is about an inch and a half wide, I think. Maybe just over an inch.
Hello Peter. Kindergarden question. I do not have a CC but like the idea. On a CC, is the factory headliner a one piece or two piece? If a one piece, how did you fab it to be a 2 piece? I would like more information about the process.

Does anyone have links to thread with CC ceiling options?

Thanks in advance, Chris

As far as I know, the headliner is 2 pieces, and always has been. Mine were in really bad shape, but they were good enough to use as templates for the ones I made.

Correct on they are 2 pieces for the crew cabs. Front piece/section is the same as a standard cab truck.

What about the metal strap covering the seam? I have a supercab and no one make a one piece headliner. I like the idea of making it a 2 piece.

Any links for education or photos of the ceiling? Is the middle metal strap available aftermarket or just jy only?

Thanks

I believe on a CC the piece that is the cover or "joining strap" between the front and rear headliner pieces is made of white plastic. Only state that because I seem to remember to have one and sold it to a FTE member along time ago.
