I know, stupid things are $50 for a new set too, I'm sure I can fine one off a scrapped truck though.
I'm sure I have one lying around that I could send but I am in Canada and shipping would be a pain. Lot's of guys on here would have them too. Shoot a PM to Rich (77&79F250) - he IS the parts guy.
What do you think Celtic, keep the same color scheme on it and try to stay as much original as I can. Maybe put a two tone on the side also instead of just on the roof. Or go with a fire engine red and black interior. I am also planning on a stake flatbed with wood rails. I am a visualizer and need to start seeing all this stuff before I work on it..lol
Call me boring, but I usually prefer original. However ... two tone would look great - painting below the dent to match the roof would look sharp. Use Google Images to find ones you like or use photoshop to tryout a few options.
I really like original also. This truck is repainted in my trucks original color codes. I was thinking of adding the two-tone along the side and wrap it around the back since I wont have a bed on it. I wonder if I could get custom trim to wrap all around the back and just continue to follow to the other side in one big circle.
Do the 38 gallon, behind the axle tanks fit in our trucks or is mine just weird? I just got mine from rockauto and there is no way that this thing fits. The tank is 34 inches wide but I only have 28 inches between my frame rails. There are also two crossmembers that will need to be moved in order to fit the tank.
