Reading over the International manual, it looks like they specify 95ft-lb for the bearing cap bolts (oil coated if re-using). Thing is a class 10.9 fastener for that size is notated in the manual as 79ft-lb (+/- 10%). Has me wondering if the bearing cap bolts and connecting rod bolts are reusable? If they are tightened that much have they permanently stretched?

I wouldn't reuse any engine internal bolts.

I’m with FinnishStroker on this one. Especially the fasteners on the bits that spin or reciprocate.

That’s what happens when you use Dugga Duggas instead of Ugga Duggas.

To think what might have happened if they had re-used the timing cover mounting bolts

I know, right? They might have had to mill the front cover down by .002.

Rod bolt kit is on indefinite backorder, and the stock bolts are discontinued so I might have to re-use the rod bolts. @Bitterroot Diesel Don't suppose you have any floating around your shop?
