Yes this too. Shocks suffer from a severe case of Goldilocks Syndrome i.e. they have to be just right .

It’s Hot Wheels fault kids like this....

That truck may have a ‘4 inch lift’ in the front and likely stock ‘2” blocks’ in the rear.

I think your lift is slightly less.

Honestly, I’m still in favor of ditching the lift and going to stock 4wd height. Sell the ‘lift kit’ parts and use that $$ to buy what ya need to go to stock.

I think 285’s on stock wheels will look small with that lift. 315/75/16’s (34.5” tall) on an 8-10” wide wheel would look much better, but not toooo wide for stock wheels. The new trucks all have taller tires (albeit less sidewall with bigger wheels...)

Of course the only reason my truck was never lifted is because it MUST fit in my garage and it just fits as it is now!

In that case, I would definitely want the 0-1 in lift shock. (18-29 in) that gives me the lower end for the shock to squat down without the shock bottoming out. That is what I have come up with based off of the information that you and everybody else have kindly provided. Thanks!

I might consider going back to stock. Don't really want to mess with taking the leaf springs back loose unless I have to. May I ask out of curiosity, why you think I should take it back down? I don't think it really hurts the function of the truck in any way. except for getting stuff out of the bed. But that's not going to change from dropping the front end down anyway. Of course, I'm not trying to be mean in any way, I'm just trying to see your thoughts!

I needed the truck back on the road and didn't have time to try to hunt down parts. I kind of like the way it looks. It is also easy to roll underneath it with a creeper! It's kind of nice. With my current tires I can even get to the power steering pump for the wheel well!

The only reason I didn't want to put 315's is because I don't want to deal with it rubbing the leaf springs. Probably just going to stick with 285's so I know everything will fit with no rubbing.

With those seats and the lift your visibility going down the road is much better. Being able to see someone 4-5 cars ahead hit their brakes is better than waiting for the distracted driver in front of you slam on their brakes at the last second. Gives you time to back it down and not having to worry about hitting someone or being hit from behind if you slam on your brakes.

To me, that visibility is worth more than anything else you could do to the truck!

X3

I also think 285’s will look too small with a 3” lift. I’m running the 285 with my stock ride height.

I like a tire to fill the well a bit. Of course this is your truck so it’s up to you. We’re just trying to help you think of all the possibilities before dropping the money.

Some photos of the 285’s on my F250 and dad’s F350.

I have to agree that that looks great on the stock height truck. I just don't want to rub the leaf springs. I like the lifted look but, don't know how I would fit 315's without rubbing the springs. I have a buddy selling a brand new set of 315's with rim and tire for 1200$. His truck was totaled and he doesn't need them on his new truck. But what could I do to avoid rubbing? I don't want tire spacers. I hate the way tires that stick out the side of the truck look.

I always very much so appreciate all of you showing me all the possibilities before I buy something. Without yall I'd buy stuff and not be happy with it. Y'all give me a lot of insight on things and I can't thank y'all enough!

315’s probably won’t rub. If they do, it would only be at full turn and different offset wheels would fix it.

My buddy runs 46” tall tires on like 6” of lift. He doesn’t care about rubbing. Lol.
