My bedplate mating surfaces were pristine, used motorcraft gaskets after cleaning twice and sealed ends with Motorcraft grey...WTF would make it leak after this short of a time? Stranger things have happened but I don’t buy it.
Hunt for the location before you drive yourself crazy with what ifs.....
Oh I will, just need some days off to get her in my shop and crawl fumunda upunda.
But look at that cleanliness. Not as clean as you Jack but I used acetone in the crevices the long gaskets slide in and acetone on all surfaces with Sontara wipes...learned from the man!
I myself would probably not (read definitively not) use the grey silicone. Why? because my bed plate has leaked since it new, or at least since just few thousand miles. And since this is a fairly common leak point I would go another way. So ford recommends ! ? I would probably use a loctite sealant of the same general type like is used on the split cases of old air cooled 911's. Done properly ,they don't leak. just saying.

I used the anaerobic gasket maker with the grey on the ends. Dry as dust with about 27,000 miles on it. I did put some of the grey around the dip stick tube also.

I can't recall your response on the oil level you run at, but I wouldn't discount the effect of running a quart low on oil seepage. Sometimes that helps. I have ALWAYS had a "hanging drop" and I don't see it as quickly/often when I refill w/ 13.5 qts after an oil change. If you have already responded to a similar post - my apologies. It is late - just woke up to a LOT of rain and thunder (very uncharacteristic for S. Tx.)
Once I figure out where it is coming from I will let you guys know. I will probably try running a low oil level and see what happens. I knew that trick but dang it if it is my bedplate I will not be pulling the engine until fall when it cools off again. Hopefully it won’t come to that! Thanks again guys.
The Reinz products are available in the USA, and they are good, just not popular. If I was going to use something other than the RTV Ford sells for HEUI diesel, it would be Yamabond.
