Something is fishy here, I think it’s a bad ICP or wiring issue. I picked up two Duracell group 65 batteries and installed them and plugged in the block heater while topping the batteries off. I let her heat up and cranked with the starter wire and FICM relay removed taking breaks in between to cool the starter and let the batteries charge. Cranked with the relay in and key and I got 210-220rpm but everything else was the same as yesterday. Duty cycle jumps to 93.9% immediately and can’t get over 680psi ICP. I noticed my ICP with KOEO shows 270, it never drops anywhere close to zero. I thought Duty Cycle was 15-85% not 15-93.9%? I think that’s my issue causing the ICP to show a false value. I am going to unplug the ICP after work and see if she fires. Everything else is right where it needs to be.
Key on engine off...what’s up with that ICP AT 283.9?
First part of cranking duty cycle immediately jumps to 93.9%
This is the highest the ICP gets after 15-20 seconds of cranking
Fuel pressure is 68psi and this is coming straight off the fuel pressure regulator AFTER the heads on the regulated return system that I have had on this truck since last April with no issues. She’s getting fuel just no fire.
i was on the phone with him yesterday and it won't lite off with WD 40 sprayed in. Something is defiantly up with this new mill. I hope the cam got lined up right, cause the numbers all look good.
One other thing I see is the IPR duty cycle of 93.9%. It is suppose to max out at 85%.
I mentioned that, it was the first thing I noticed. It never went over 85% before. Something is jacked up with the PCM, wiring or ICP.
UCF and my machinist confirmed that reduced height pistons do not change compression because what you shave off the top of the piston and reduced bowl volume cancel eacb other out. I’m no machinist but from what I have seen there are no issues with people adding piston coatings, fly cutting pistons to clear valves etc so mine should be no different. That IPR Duty and ICP are suspect.
We discussed that last night, he's ordered a new ICP and changed the IPR with a known good one. What bothered me is it won't fire off on WD 40 which it should have. I wasn't there but the numbers on the IPR bothers me.
I hope I can get my hand around the back from underneath, I’ve never tried. I have long arms and big hands but they are nimble like a raccoon!
Long arms are an advantage. Overly large forearms, well, that’s another story as it’s tight between the bell housing and floor board. Pull the shifter cable towards the rear with a bungee for more forearm clearance. Worst part is removing the stock heat shield that mounts to the back of the HPOP cover, but you don’t have that problem.
My idea would also be to unplug the ICP.
Have you tried running the IPR manually? 94% ? I'm puzzled there's something wrong. I use this tool to manually trigger the IPR, so I test each IPR before I install it:

No I have not test them but the one that came out before the rebuild worked perfectly. I bought a new Motorcraft with updated screen and it was in there first then I swapped them with the exact same readings and results.
