easter weekend I decided to load up and head to the city for the annual draggins rod and custom car show. Had a great time and lots of people interested in the truck. Now I’ve got to get it running. Still a ways to go that’s for sure. I’ve started to compile a list and it just keeps growing.

Haven’t had time to do much lately. Getting the crops in, now that seeding is done and spraying is is caught up for now, time to get back on it.

exhaust was next on my list and I wanted it to come out through the running board. I’ve seen a few others do this so this is my take. I’ll have to make my own exhaust tip

When you make custom exhaust cut out in your running boards, you also have to make custom exhaust tips to go through. I’m undecided if I like the open look or the divided look.

I think it looks best with the divisions

I am leaning towards the one with the dividers on it as well. I just need to figure out how to clean it up a little bit and not have the flat part looks so noticeable. I’m surprised how many people liked the open tip.

Maybe trim it out with some round rod, something like 1/4" , both the perimeter and the dividers ?

Perhaps angle cut or step back the ends of the mating surfaces so the ends aren't so prominent on the view edge?

Yes, I was thinking about cutting them back on an angle so they wouldn’t be as noticeable. The entire tip needs to be cut down, but I am not gonna do that till the exhaust is done. I want them set on a bit of an angle.

I was thinking about something like that but it would be tough to get the curve to fit snug.

Well here’s the final take on the exhaust tips. I’ll have to run a flex pipe most likely. They turned out pretty good I think.

Those look great.
Im assuming you will need to run at least a short section of flex to keep vibration from the exhaust from traveling thru the cab.
