What differential / rear axle are you using and back spacing on the rims? I had to use 1/4" spacers to centre my wheel that had a 4 inch BS with an Explorer rear diff...

Thats a very low profile tire and from this angle looks like it wouldn't clear the fender if it could go that high .

I cut mine up and put a tapered filler in. Worked out great. Used 18 ga metal. You need to know what you are looking for to see the difference. You can see the complete build on my thread.

It’s sitting in the garage filled with cherry firewood even with the sides right now. It does have helper springs. Back in the late 70’s we had a 3300lb load of steel we took to the junk yard. I was running L60x15 Goodyear tires back then. Never had a fender clearance problem. It’s probably the angle of the photo.

I'm sure you wouldn't have enough travel to get the tire up into the fender and it's very possible the angle is making it deceptive . It appears as if you were to put a straight edge from the ground up along your tire it would be outside the fender which would be great for your setup but could be problematic for anyone wanting a taller tire .

John I’m using a ford 9” out of a 68. New axles and disc conversion. The disc push the wheel out 1/4” I was told. Between the tire I had 50.5” I believe. Which is just barely enough to clear the inside of the bed. Wheels are 4.5” bs and 0 offset

pinto if I was as high as you I’d probably get away with it. But the edge of the fender to the bedside is basically the same width as the tires. Fenders aren’t narrowed. Just beat up. Lol

marten. Thank you. I will look through your build. That looks amazing

Got a bit done on the bed today. Got the floor removed. And laid it back down of the frame rails. Only to lift it again and pull fenders off. I have very little clearance between tire and bed side so I think I’ll do some mini tubs. Went a picked up a fender and trimmed it up. Not sure how to attach it.

So I bought a serpentine kit from cvf. Showed up this afternoon. Figured I’d pull all the accessories off they came off super easy. Then onto the water pump and snapped 3 bolts. Now I have to pull off timing cover as well. Not sure how this is going to end up.

I’d call today a win. Successfully removed the 3 broken bolts, and no damage to the timing cover. Gave it a good cleaning. Note I need to remove engine again and drop the pan and clean out any debris that fell in.

Slack on the chain..how many miles on the engine.? Might be insurance to change it now rather than needing to tear the front end off later to do it. I made that mistake...lol
