With the A/C I didn't think I needed it. I was going to leave on this build but the gasket rubber seemed rather hard and I couldn't get the lid to close flush. something else you might want to think about..that's why I closed it up..
Chances are with the a/c I’ll never use it, I still have the vent window as well. Time will tell. I won’t be doing any paint or body work for a while. I’d like to just get it running and driving for now and then blow it all apart for paint and body, so I have time to make up my mind. I do have a fair amount of electrical right under that vent so it needs to be sealed at a minimum
I would however like to do something with the cab, I have all the sound deadener, just need to figure out what if anything I should spray the floor with first or just take a wire wheel to it
I like the look too, it is easier however on the 56's. I thought after I bought the vent windows I should have done the solid glass on this one too . Money is spent now so the vent windows will go in..

That's good to know, John. There's nothing like driving down the road with the wing vents turned in, bringing fresh air into the cab. Or have them open partially to have them blocking air from coming in the windows depending on your preference and the weather.
Found this in Pinterest, first time I saw Mercury step plates. I assume they are custom.might give you some ideas and with your fabrication skills you should be good.
