Yup i am planning on painting the cowl tomorrow and wire wheeling and painting the fenders with POR. Ive got time to figure ouf the bed i need to do the brakes ex tank and rear spring hangers first lol.
Rust is rust can't really beat it unless you dont drive in winter. Good news is the can corner will only be replaced on the black part of the two tone so it wont need to get faded in with the grey anymore. Thst wont be till next summer though.
I've got dome long nights ahead of me for the next few weeks lol.
I will be posting lost of pics i want to have the front end painted and back together by the weekend only rain we are getting is wednesday potentially.
Thanks!...now i cant sleep because im planning lol.
So...since im stuck awake, i neef opiniond on bumpers, obviously my 05 aftermsrket bumper is a pos so i will eventually replace it and im not sure which way i wanna go. I dont know if i want 08 rear bumper with a new 05 factory bumper or a fsb fours rear bumper and some type of offroad front bumper like a fusion bumper.
What is everyone's thoughts? An offroad bumper is like a $300 difference from stock after painting the upper valance.
After looking closely at my bed supports this morning the front 3 really need to be replaced not just painted they are close to being structurally no good, at least where the bolt holes are. I am going to save the rear two since there is no holes from rust just some scaling. I plan to simply just use some square/rectangle stock and bolt it to the bed in a few spots and this way they can easily be removed and replaced at a later date if necessary and not cause the bed floor and rust issues after removal.
Found some pics of the iron cross bumper thoughts?
(up top...the picture thing doesn't like me lol)
I love the fab fours rear bumper IMO its the best looking aftermarket bumper for the rear end.
Those don't look that bad, so you guys think offroad bumpers instead of OEM then? I am thinking just in price difference its like spending $300 for a nearly indestructible bumper that will keep my front end together in the event of a collision with anything lol.
Yeah...PITA to deal with this truck won't see winter again if it even gets driven this winter lol.
know the feeling, I refuse to drive mine in winter....you can keep them rust free with winter driving, but it's a lot more effort. I f***ing hate rust.
I know there are so many options that look good from the front but not the side which kills me inside. the general jest I am taking away from this though is everyone is saying go aftermarket mostly lol. The Fusion bumpers do not look bad and they have several LED light brackets as options that I can now utilize.
I have my mind made up on the fab fours rear though I really like that one..the front though man I can't make up my mind lol or if I even want to just go new OEM.
