Another update form last night, the weather didn't hold out unfortunately and it started raining around 9:00 PM which is a good think that i didn't start on the truck because the POR would have been wet still. However i still made good use of my time and painted 90% of the driver side fender.
Before
After
I also got the cowl installed before dark and the rain and cleaned out under the cowl to prevent all the crap from getting stuck in there like leaves and such.
Also i painted and installed my new decal on the New airbag!
BigBee i got a few pictures of the tank i think it came out of a gas truck and was mistitled on Ebay.
You are correct that is from a Gas Excursion. That will be plug and play for your current setup but you will want to get a diesel sending unit and external pump when you do your swap.
it should be 3/8" fuel line attached to the stainless lines. you can just remove the barb connectors off the tank side and double clamp the stainless side. Or I am just double clamping both sides.
Are you referring to the flexible part and just basically cutting longer pieces and installing hte compression fitting on one and and clamping it to the fuel line? Sorry i havn't looked at my fuel lines yet just trying to visualize it lol.
Yes, in the diesel application it is actually suggested to double clamp to the sending unit as well and to get rid of the quick connects because they can actually introduce air into the fuel lines.
I am only saying to double clamp to your existing lines for now because you have said you are going to be buying and running full new lines with the upcoming swap.
Ok i get it yeah that maked sense i was just trying to think it through, i had no idea those clips intriduce air thats annoying.
With air being introduce into the fuel line it will wreak havoc on the injectors and can cause rough idle and stalling. The hutch and harpoon mod fixes all this and is a must with the diesel.
Thought I would make my way to this side of the forum sense it has been a while and your truck is looking fantastic by the way.

Thanks Scott! I know, not worried about it now just once i start the diesel swap.

I feel like grinding them would be way too much work, but the bed floor would be fine.
I've seen spot weld drills, but that will put holes in the floor.
Is it your future father-in-law that has a body shop? Maybe check with him.
No he is a mechanic, however i checked out those spot weld drills and they don't put a hole in the bed floor only in the support but they are spendy unfortunately.
I just bought a Spot Weld Cutter bit on Amazon for $15 seems like the best option I have to not create through holes in my floor. I also purchased a bulk pack (12 cans) of Fluid film to coat all 4 of my vehicles before winter lol. The truck is getting a heavy coating of it, the Expedition will be decently covered as well and I will get as much as I can of my 95 and the Fiancé's Focus because those door panels are starting to rust now.
I still have 3 more vehicles to undercoat and the clock has really set me back... It will be dark when I get home now.... I need a major outdoor lighting upgrade. Or even better, a proper sized garage lol.

I know the clock screwed me! I used to get home as the sun was going down so it was light out enough to set up my work lights but now it will be down before I even get out of class/work lol. Once I get the passenger side POR'd tonight however I wont need to really work outside again jus ton the bed and stuff inside the garage which has ok lighting...enough to work lol.
Also took a quick crack at making a console template yesterday I have a better way of doing it tough and will redo it this weekend.
