This is spiraling down hill quick.....

Matt, either go big on jewelry or get her something like earrings and necklace that match her rings so she can wear them for the wedding. Since mine is finishing up to be a nurse, I got her very nice watch because it was something I thought she would use. And for once, I was right

Orrrrr......

You can do why my buddy does. How this works, I have no idea. His wife buys him a projector for his birthday... a nice one.... north of $1500 nice. He bought her whatever she asked for for her birthday which was like a pair of shoes and a coat ( < $200)

A year later for their wedding, they agreed not to exchange presents. They agreed on cards. So she got him a card and a $1000 watch. He bought her a card. He admittedly felt like crap for this one.

This year she got him $1300 Bose Surround Sound for his Birthday... still waiting to see what he reciprocates with.

I have no idea why she does this. He does not ask for it. He likes these things but would never buy them for himself. They seem perfectly happy in this black hole of gifting.... so for some girls it just works.

Lol I like what your buddy has, it would make me feel like crap though as well. I felt bad and i told her i just dont have the money to get anything until after the wedding because the closing costs on the house and the wedding are draining us both dry. She is understanding of that though and she is grateful that i was able to save enough to buy us a house a few weeks before the wedding lol.

Man you were right about closing costs though, they came in WAY over what they were originally estimated at and i needed to come up with way more than i anticipated.

I've had to tell mine that and she has had to tell me that. Money is the biggest cause of problems in the relationship. As long as you can respect each others boundaries with $$$ everything will be great

Ya, I know what you mean. When we closed on ours I was about $1k from tapping out.... but we were so far in, I was determined to get the house. And eventually we did and it worked out. But nothing prepared me for the stress of closing. And the amount you owe varies day to day. Jesus is that annoying.

I could not imagine also paying for a wedding at the same time. You got some brass stones on you, that's for sure.

So... this is slightly off topic but not really. I am seriously considering installing the 5.4l and 4r100 in the charger (maybe a different trans). I've been listening to exhausts and looking into supercharging or turbocharging it and it looks like it would be a bad *** setup. I would like to keep it more original with an older motor in it but i mean it wold haul with that motor in it the current one barely gets her going when i take it for a drive every no and again.

Jeremy got my thinking on this with is turbocharged 5.4l lol....yet i do love the sound of those old carborated engines.

It would turn heads and it would be all Mopar. And that way, you can drive your F250 again.

Question guys, I found a deal on an 08 front axle...would putting 99-04 wheel son the 05+ axles cause any rubbing issues? i know they rub going from 05+ down to 99-04 because of the leafs.

Yeah, I have 18's now so I'm not worried about that. Looking into it i think i would be in at about 2-3k to do this whole thing and i could get really nice front leaf springs for under $1500 so i think I'm gonna stick with the leaf spring front end...juts makes my life easier and less expensive lol.

Lol looking back into this I could get only the front axle for about $4-500 so this might actually be viable and if I wanted later on I could upgrade the rear brakes to the 05 size calipers and rotors by changing the caliper bracket. It would be say 500 for the axle, springs, 800 for a 4 link kit and 400 for upper spring buckets. Not that terrible I guess and its 90% bolt on.

05+ axle is wider, so if you mixed them front to year you'd have a wide and a narrow which would probably look funny.

When I did my swap, I picked up a complete rolling chassis for $900. I wanted it stock height (well, stock truck height which is +2" on an Excursion) so I didn't need any aftermarket bits.

There is a fella in the SD pics thread with the 04 oem 18's on a newer truck and it looks pretty damn good but I think the larger tires really set it off with the higher offset. I don't recall what your plan for tires was though.
