Went by destroked today before I got on my flight home, man they have a lot of nice trucks in their shop and all the staff is extremely helpful. I actually was there and they were packing my stuff to ship, if I wasn't as tight on time as I was they were gonna let me hand carry it home instead of shipping it via FedEx or ups lol. If anyone is looking for a company to make a fummins they are the best IMO.
Also there was a really nice truck there that had the fab fours rear bumper and some matte black 5" stacks same charcoal and black color as mine and rims too lol just a crew cab but damn I really really liked the look of it! The bumper wasn't a fusion bumper like I want but it looked similar song have a good idea of my end result!
Sounds like a reason to hang around a few more minutes & learn more Info on your build while u waited for Part's to be rounded up. Plus u could've saved $ on shipping....Oh well
I would have stayed however I already barely made my plane I literally walked on just as hey closed the door lol. We did get a good amount of conversation about the swap though so it wasn't a waste at least.
I ordered some more parts by the way this morning. I ordered a custom s300 turbo a billet tappet cover and intake manifold as well as new hardware and gaskets for the motor. That's all the parts I need for the motor once I get them in I will paint the block and assemble it so it's ready to get placed in the truck!
no update on the truck this weekend other than I bought some more parts for the motor to make it complete so i can drop it in and leave it in once the 5.4 is out. I spent all weekend touring and booking a venue for the wedding next July so that was my labor day weekend lol but i will be working every night this week to make up for what i didn't get done this weekend. I planned out what need to be done every weekend to get the truck done by November-January time frame and have it in paint/bodywork for the summer!
Helpful fummins fact of the day! if you buy a commonrail manifold (04+ 5.9l) you can use it to have the turbo on the cummins clear the A/C box in super duties, i knew this before but didn't consider it because the 12v ports are square and the 24v+ ones are round...however! you can port the 24v manifold to have square holes since the 12v holes are bigger therefore you can buy an $80 manifold and put about an hour of work into it and save 300+ on an aftermarket manifold which starts at $380!...guess what i am going to buy right now lol.
let me guess.....a $380 manifold? lol just messing with ya.
but that's cool, doesn't it feel good to save money after you were already planning on spending the extra amount!

On my block, the only oil return was in front of the motor mount. With the turbo mounted down and back there was no way to use it. One could weld a bung in the oil pan I suppose.
I ended up just using the stock manifold flipped over.
This is what the 3rd gen manifold looks like. Definitely a nicer usage of available space. Also note the stock oil line was touching the manifold.
you know guys...i need to quit this forumn now i am doing twins agian i found a way to do them fairly cheap fast spooling and powerful lol. an s363/s475 compound set up the s363 is slightly larger than the stock cummins turbo so there isnt really any lag which is why i got it and that one charges the s475 nicely, lots of people run them on cummins for every type of use..... sometimes i question why i listen to you all lol.
If i do go this rout (probably will now) i will get a Cr manifold like i said earlier to clear the A/C box and push the setup rearward and leave some room.
They warned us about peer pressure in middle school...all that talk of sex, alcohol, and drugs... who would've ever imagined that it would work on turbo setups and diesel swaps
