those are exactly like I am talking about to Matt. I personally also like the curved stacks on the right truck but I hate those little 3" galvanized steel stacks I see on trucks around here (mostly gassers). I am not sure if they are called miter or what but I call them slant cut. LOL

Jeremy I plan to do the candy cane driveshaft on the ranger as soon as I figure out what color we are going with on it. It keeps changing from blue, black, white, orange, and yellow. What do you thing? It is a 96 ranger 4x4 extended cab with polished jeep wheels.

My younger brother thinks it would be cool to put stacks on my youngest brother ranger personally I wanted to smack him. LOL Now if it had a 4bt swap in it.....

Happy new year to y'all too.

I'd go orange all day long. I avoid black and white, I actually like to make things ignorantly bright. As a result, I am no longer allowed to suggest colors to paints rooms in the house. Plum Crazy and Grabber Blue were both turned down.... oh well, I still have some orange walls in my man cave

I personally love black and white which if we did the original plan (06+ grill in black and made it look like the 02) I would do black and white but since the plan has changed we are more looking towards the others. I forgot to mention purple too.
Orange with a black bottom and a camper shell is high on the list.

Right now the truck is green, purple, red, and white. The grille has the bottom black and the top chrome for now at least. I am just glad we decided on not green because I know what my younger brother would suggest (grabber green).

OCD I think everybody has that when we start customizing our trucks maybe not in the same places but we all have it. LOL

Air horns are on my list to it is just a matter of getting the other mods done to my 88. (I kinda feel like the loner because I don't want to do to many mods to the SD but would rather do more to my F150. LOL) I have a lot planned for the SD to (recon smoked lights, 08 gate w/step (for short people like me), do some more mods to the engine, F350 rear blocks and leveling kit front and either the size I have now or 315s, and add a billet insert to list a few) but not near as much as you guys have.
Trav

Nope still have both Trav. I actually kind of like the stainless trim, breaks up all the white. But the stuff that's on there looks like crap and is pretty beat. I'll probably get some new ones eventually. But I wouldn't mind taking them to see how I like the look without them, but I'm afraid to see what it looks like underneath them haha. And yeah still got the stacked blocks, but I think they're ok for now. Its funny because everything actually got redone back there. I had my truck in the shop having my Uncle and their mechanic check it over before I left for RRE this past summer. Was gonna rotate and check the tires, and check everything else over, etc. Well I guess they got the rear tires off and their mechanic got one look at it and said this truck ain't going nowhere. Apparently the whoever did the lift on the back did it completely wrong and everything was backwards and out of alignment. So they took the whole rear suspension apart and realigned everything, leaf springs and blocks. And I had a cracked in half rear spring, have the spring was gone! Which I knew about, but didn't know what to do with it, and was pretty sure it was like that since I got it. Well they took the front, stock leaf springs that used to be on my Dad's old 88 and made me some leafs to replace the broken one. I guess it was the same thickness so they just cut it to length. Did that for both sides so that they would be even.

That's alright Trav you'll get there some day haha. Even though you don't have plans now, probably once you start modding it you won't stop haha. I've got so many plans for my truck its not even funny. I pretty much know it all in my head too. Is it bad that I have like fully planned out build sheets in my head for trucks I don't even have yet? Because I plan to buy a OBS 7.3 Powerstroke soon to drive in the winter, which I already have plans for. I've got all kinds of plans to fix up my Dad's old 88. And I know I want to buy a 6.0 someday, which I have way too many plans for. Maybe I have a problem, lol. I just like to plan things out, and have an idea of what I want to do.

Trav

I know you want a 6.0 Trav. Those stacks wouldn't look bad on there. That's what I would put on my truck, either that or the same ones but 7". Yeah I want a 6.0 BAD, but won't happen until I'm out of college. I want an 05-07 crew cab long bed, probably black with at least the Lariat package. And like I said got all kinds of plans for it.

I am not a fan of single stacks personally i think like everything it really depends on the truck for certain mods in general not just stacks to look good. If i was to do stacks i would do Two 7" mitre cut satin black stacks i think. Actually one of the reasons i am not thinking about getting them is because i am still unsure about how i feel the 12v sounds with them.

OCD definitely if i didn't have it the truck would be together i am killing like 26 birds with 1 stone lol. I am definitely thinking about the cervini ram air hood btw lol i love that hood and feel like it might match well with a fusion bumper.

This is the only angle of the two i can find together, i might get it soon (as in spring/summer) so that when i get the cab corners replaced he can paint the hood as well and the 08 tailgate i still need to follow up on.

EDIT: damn its on amazon for $700 i could get it for $295 and free shipping..... or OBA set up...I'm terrible at this i should be working lol

Hood with fusion bumper:

Yah know now that you mention it, that would look kind of cool to see the black and white spinning. I was just going to do it in all white, but now kind of like the candy cane idea, unless you guys think it would look way too ricey haha. Idk I'll have to think about it more.

Yeah I didn't either but the single stacks have grown on me. It definitely all depends on the truck. Yeah on my truck I would go with 6" or 7" mitre cut (angle cut) but in chrome. Not sure how they'd sound on the 12v. I can tell you one thing for sure though, they'd be LOUD. I love the sound of just about any diesel truck so I don't think I would mind it, but not sure how you would like it. I know the 6.0's and 7.3's can roar but those 12v's have a hum to em like no other, they are just loud for some reason. I love the way my Dad's sounds in cab, and doesn't bother me or him at all. It actually makes me wish I had them on mine so I can actually hear my exhaust haha. I'd say just go with a nice big exhaust first and see how you like the sound of that, and then see if you would like stacks or not.

Yeah I know what you mean. I'll probably end up PORing mine, rebuilding the suspension and doing the lift and tires all at the same time haha.

That truck looks real good with the hood and bumper. I tell you what I never used to like the look of those ram air hoods, but you starting to make them grow on me Matt. That truck looks really good with it.

Yeah first picture is Mitre cut, second one those are called Aussie stacks, really starting to like those ones. I like Mitre, Turnouts and the Aussie ones. The cat stacks are starting to grow on me too. Yeah I think the biggest I would go, stack or tip wise, is 7" anything above that looks ridiculous in my opinion. It just looks stupid. I really hate the guys that put the huge tips that are still only 12" long and look like a little stub on the end of the exhaust. I just don't get how people think those look good.

I also hate stacks on gassers. The only gasser that could ever rock stacks is the 460 and even that's pushing it.

Bently you're just jealous because you joined the conversation late and that you're truck could never pull off stacks because its a gasser...

Haha just messing with ya man.

.
Man that sucks about the spring deal. Dealers just like selling problems huh? The 04 envoy I had to do a complete tune up on because they did it wrong.

Ya I probably will get their but I am thinking I might rather get another truck like we had before to mod much more. (2002 F250 extended cab 4x4 do a Cummins swap and lift it). However I am so fond of the 87-96 trucks that every time I can get close to another SD (we were suppose to get a F450 99 V10 but instead we got the 92) we get another 87-96.

I am the same way I want so many different vehicles (luckly where I live we have more then enough room) that it is unbelievable plus I have a mod list for all. Unfortunately some are of the other brand but once you start playing with a car like my mom has you just fall in love. I probably shouldn't even start with the mods I want to do to mom's car and I would have to PM you all the mods I want for all the vehicles and it would probably be two PMs. LOL Luckily only I decide on the mods on my 88, the 73, and I get parcial say on the 02 so the others I just go round and round on. LOL.

Matt I think you need to change this to the off topic thread since we are only on topic 30 of the 834 posts. LOL

I am not drinking yet. I am leaving work in a couple minutes. Then beer. Lots of it. In rapid succession. Until I am face down on the floor. With any luck, I'll reach this point before our first party guest makes it to the house

Happy new year guys!

Haha sorry for getting so off topic guys. That was probably mostly my fault (and maybe partially Trav's). We've gotten pretty good at derailing threads, happened many a times in the past haha.

Good luck with that one Matt! You know we won't be any help in that. But I've got the perfect new name for this thread, just needs a simple addition. Monte's 04 Build Thread/BS Thread Solves all issues, lol.

And Happy New Year guys. But there won't be any drinking for me as I'm only 19. So hope you guys have a good time.

Me getting things off topic. Naw. LOL Yes we have gotten pretty good at it Jon I think most of the top hit threads of the SD and 87-96 side has been hit by us (especially me since I am on more).

I won't be doing any drinking either since I won't be 21 until the 30th (of 2017) LOL.
Jon I thought you were younger then me?

ADD I have that to never stop adding to the list on anything. LOL

By the way I forgot one that I can choose what to mod on (the 92 F250) which is more of my thing (SAS swap and tons of fabricating) as it is to be a work/recovery truck.
Right now I am looking through to see what mods I can add to it and the 02. LOL
