Haha me to man nice to be able to work on the truck again and this printer will give me so many cool options to make custom parts. They wont be super strong because its 3D printed plastic but they will work well enough for me to get everything working correctly and nicely. Makes things possible like the rear Ex cab door panels!
Alright guys, i decided to paint the frame in steps because after doing one frame rail i realized i might not have enough POR lol so i did the passenger side rail last night i will do the drivers side tonight hopefully but here are the pics!
Thanks I'm hoping to have the drivers side done tonight or tomorrow that includes the crossmember and the rest of the trailer hitch. Once that's done I will start reassembly this weekend! And complete the Ex tank install.
Next on my list is the airdog, and axle rebuild so I ca assemble the rear end and then complete the bed.
What's everyone's thoughts on 4.56 gears with 35's? I figured it would give the motor a good advantage over the tires and hopefully maintain some mpgs. I've read that 3.73s work best in diesels with 35s but I've seen in cummins forums that people usually run 4.30s or 4.56s.
No the first coat is silver POR then i used thier black top coat which is just a UV protective paint that doesn't fade. POR fades after a couple years so i decided to do silver then black that way i can see if i miss any spots rather then black on black lol, plus the silver POR has aluminum in it.
Looks great! I had the same problem with my Ranger. All I wanted to do was drive it again lol. You'll get there.
Yeah man i just want to drive it but I want to get everything done and not have to really work on it again so i can just drive it lol. Then i can work more on the other two
I actually thought of a 6.0 but it would be even more difficult and the reliability would be up in the air unless i rebuilt it and started fresh which would have been a ton of money into the base platform.
I wish i would hurry up to but i can only go so fast i want to have the rear end completed by the end of the month so i can finalize the interior then move to the engine swap lol.
Gentlemen...here is my new printer i actually didnt work on the truck today set this bad Larry up instead so in a way i got one of my tolls ready to work on the truck lol.
Matt, u know I am just teasing
Your truck is going to be 1 of a kind & I cant wait to see it complete
3D printer is amazing, hard to believe that they are down enough in price for us mere mortals to buy but I guess it's like the rest of technology. If u don't mind to give me an idea what 1 costs (not that i'd know how to use it...lol)
