Quick question for you guys..I ah...i may have lost my rear leaf spring nuts lol and i was wondering if anyone had the part number or knew where to find the bolt and nut assembly? I am just going to use my old bolts on the F150 when i swap the springs and ill get a new nut but i will need a new one for the F250, every time i search something i get the leaf spring not the bolt and nut.
Also FYI i bought the POR this morning and i bought the mounting and hardware and wiring for a Tekonsha trailer brake controller, I needed to get a new mount and i couldn't find it for my old controller so i figured a newer one might be worth the money since i may have my own one day and i can set up up to 5 different trailer profiles so i never have to touch it aside form selecting the profile.
Yeah they dont seem like anything special i was debating going to one of the local stores my grandfather told me about the other day. All he does is sell hardware like bolts and nuts and he has every size and and grade you could ever imagine i guess lol. I was just going to see if the ford ones were expensive or not because the flange piece does make it rather nice to bolt and unbolt them without the need for another wrench.
Well Gentlemen...that's all she wrote! The frame work is done with the exception f the Excursion tank skid plate modifications but that is soley modifications to the skid plate not the truck.
I got the shock towers modified and mounted last night as well as the rear flex line on the axle removed so i could slide it out of the way and then remove it entirely to work on it.
Pics:
I only installed 3 out of 4 bolts because the bottom bolt did not line up and was too close to the actual tower portion of the shock tower that i could have drilled a hole right through it and definitely impacted it structurally.
Friday and Saturday this week i will finish the Ex tank install and then strip the frame of all parts and undercoating as well as grind it to get it ready for the POR that will arrive on Monday of next week. I should have it painted by next Saturday! and then i am traveling for a week for work lol but when i get back i will reassemble once the POR has cured and then start the bed work, the Bed should realistically only take a weekend or two days worth of work to complete.
One thing to keep in mind.... depending on how thick the paint turns out, you may have to shim you cab to get it to match body lines again. If you do 5 coats on the frame and 5 coats on the cross member, I'll bet the line is off by an 1/8" or more. this is just one of those things that make me all OCD ish
It is finally...and now i may be traveling for work starting next week for 3 weeks lol SCREECHING halt....
Well at least that means some big pay checks that can get put into my truck..i mean wedding savings
Yeah i am doing the body mounts and from what I've read they will make the cab sit 1/8-1/4" higher so i am planning on setting the bed on and bolting it down before i tighten the cab down to make sure its all level and if not i will shim the Bed or cab slightly. Especially with the two tone now if the light gray stripe is off it will drive me freaking nuts!
No I'm in Seattle right now and might be in Texas next week for work lol. I did strip the frame of all the undercoating and loose rust though before I left so when I get back Friday or Saturday I will POR the frame and take pics. I have lots of pics from here in WA but again the app doesn't work so when I get to my event here I can post them via my computer lol.
