The bushing in the photo was rubber outside with an inner metal sleeve for the axle pivot bolt. The outer rubber of the bushing contacted the hole in the axle beam. So once the rubber started to melt, you can knock the inner bushing out pretty easily. Then you burn as much rubber out as you can and the drench it in water. After that, you just have to clean up the hole with a small wire wheel and die grinder, or a scraper, or whatever you can find lol.
Oh that's cleaver, the bushings however in the leaf springs have an outer metal sleeve as well as an inner one to i would still need to press that out i would think correct?
More than likely unless you burn the bushing out and the cut the outer metal shield from the bushing with a sawzall so you could more easily work it out of the spring eye.
Darn it all you guys and your rust sent me some rust over here. LOL Just finished getting the seats and carpet out of the stang and the floorboards are completely shot. Idiots and leaving the window and sunroof open soaking the carpet.
With a small lift those tires and wheels would look killer on that expedition. LOL

Nothing wrong with a tank at least you be able to scare the crap out of all the prius cars in the parking lot unlike my mom's Envoy which would be scared of a Prius even with the slightly bigger tires I put on it. LOL

HAHA i saw those the other day! and i wanted to get an old minivan and make a paintball car. They use to have a vehicle course for paintball around here that you could take any old car and outfit it how you want and if you get hit your out like normal. Once the driver was left that's that but people had gunners and all that crazy stuff it was cool!
Got the rear shackle mounted today! I should be done with the frame tomorrow all I have to do is mount the front hanger on the drivers side. I am going to try and remove the rear body mounts as well then i will order some POR to paint the frame for next weekend. Then is time to work on the bed!
Gentlemen it is picture time...the drivers side of the truck is hard to get to so honestly i couldn't take many good pictures.
I have the rear end about 95% finished all that is left is to knock out the cross member rivets on the driver side, drill the shock tower holes and modify the driver side tower, and modify the Ex tank skid plate. I am aiming to paint it this weekend so i am ordering some POR as we speak/post lol.
This weekend i got the front hanger completely mounted, the old front hanger removed and the rivets ground flush to the frame to get knocked out, and mounted the airbag. I promise after this week all the pictures will actually be of something different other than my rear frame work it will be mainly the bed and just the stripped frame and assembled one.
Pics!
Front hanger:
Airbag:
I also removed the bump stop the reasoning behind this other than my tires will hit the bed before the axle hits the frame is that the air bags now have internal bump stops.
before and after air bag:
One last side picture:
Oh! and the front hanger knocked off before i ground up the rivets:
I plan to have it done like done done by the end of Fall if not by the end of summer...and i dont want to drive it in the winter lol. I need to finish it before next spring because we are looking at buying a house when it goes on the market come spring time next year....and it doesn't have a garage! I will build one though lol.
Thanks Warren I can't wait to get it in as well it looks killer in the F650's and i love the headlights cant wait to see them when driving around at night they will be a massive improvement.
Once the frame is done i will work on the bed which realistically should take one weekend (2 full days) worth of time then a week for the POR to cure really hard so it doesn't get scrapped off when installing the bed onto the frame again.
I need to order my airdog and bumper though once the bed is done or just before so i can get them installed.
